@@martinebner3522 At the parlay between him and Jamie at the gates of Riverrun Brynden was under the impression that Tywin had a hand in Jon's ascent to Lord Commander. He also knew that Cat disliked Jon and took it to mean that he must be dishonorable and untrustworthy. Unless he meets Jon himself and learns the truth then I don't think it likely that he would go to the Wall. He was at Riverrun holding the castle when Robb made Jon his heir so he would not know about that as well.

When you live your whole life entrenched in a system where your birth and family dictate what you can do your whole life, how powerful you can become, how dangerous others can be to you, who is your rival and who is beneath you, one tends to pay little mind to outliers who can only rise by ambition, charisma and/or manipulation. "Paper" Lords like Littlefinger or Varys are taken lightly because they aren't on the same playing field as great nobles, they have no family, no old allegiances to use, no swords they can call (apparently). People like Jaime and Eddard are raised to view such people as tools and beasts of burden. One might become fond of an ox that pulls a cart, but when needed that ox can be slaughtered and replaced, it is still an ox. But sometimes the ox becomes a bull.

@vasilismitsakos6972 now that is a tough question. I liked him up until he got the Lords of the Vale who opposed him, especially Bronze Yohn, to be so meek, merely through that stunt he played with Lyn Corbray. That felt a bit forced, especially as he was quite powerless against them at the time. Of course, nothing close to the trainwreck that was Littlefinger in GoT post season 4. He is likeable, yes, but not high up my favourite character list, the number one spot there goes to Jaime hands down, followed by Jon Connington. I also quite like Roose Bolton, oddly enough.

She used him and then discarded him at his time of greatest need, and only now when she's desperate to save herself does she reach out to him. He's acknowledging that whatever was between them is gone, the ship has sailed and he's done swimming after it.

He will probably join the Brotherhood. Jaime let him stay alone with Tom of Seven when he was bathing in Jaime's tent. Tom must also know about LSH. I would guess that's the only place he can go. Lysa is no longer at the Vale. And he wouldn't trust Littlefinger for his safety.

there is not a single scene in asoiaf that brings tears to my eyes faster than Jaime’s dream of Joanna in this chapter. Joanna may be one of my favorite pre deceased characters and something about the simplistic dialogue and and the dreamy aura gets me every time and you totally nailed it with the echo effects lol even aside from that this is still one of my favorite chapters with so much great set up for Winds. i’d honestly love to get a prologue pov from Ser Ilyn to finally get his take on everything Jaime tells him and the Westerlings are always fascinating to me. they have so much potential to cause problems in the future, and i don’t think i ever really picked up on all the attention paid to the fact Raynald’s body is never found. i really love the theory that Jeyne somehow escaped with the Blackfish and Sybell forced her younger daughter to pretend to be her given the inconsistencies in Jaimes description of her vs Catelyns, even if George has claimed that to simply be a mistake. we only see one Westerling daughter depart with the column ! either way i hope we see her again before series end. thanks for getting me through midterms with my favorite stretch of chapters in the series !!

I have a head cannon for Jamie's future story (not really a prediction) which is at some point his growing honour becomes conflicted with some of the stupid/chaotic "lowborn" lannister soldiers. For example, i had an idea of Jaime being told of a woman and her child - residents of a village he was passing by - who were terrorised and robbed by soldiers while the rest of the army settled, and in response, Jaime held the soldiers accountable and punished them (removing their position as a soldier, imprisonment, sending them away, whatever) and some other soldiers of his army, perhaps their friends, don't like that. Either because a) they're putting loyalty towards their friends before their commander, or b) one of the soldiers who was held accountable had an important/admirable role. I don't know, i thought this would be a great small subplot to show how the change in Jaime's moral character adds more depth and complexity - how he was once daggering others with arrogance and cynicism to being daggered by others who are arrogant and cynical. It would also show parallels between him and Jon's character as they've both had their rollercoaster with honour and duty.
