Hey everyone welcome back (and if you're new, welcome!). I'm back today with another day in the life of a claims adjuster. This was filmed the week of Labor Day so it was a short but productive week. As always thank you for watching and be sure to comment other videos you'd like to see :)

I’ve said this already but I’ll say it again. I know this job can be stressful but you posting these videos make me want to get into field claims adjusting so bad! I’m working on getting my license now. I think with the right training I’ll do well.

It’s very challenging but it can be rewarding once you know what you’re doing and start moving through the ranks. You’re right the key is good training and also sticking with it even when it gets hard. Good luck to you and thank you for watching!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Just started training with an insurance company. Very very much enjoying the training and looking forward to the virtual adjusting/working in claims! I've got a great team and you've given a great framing of what the role might look like at both desk and field roles. Thanks so much for your transparency and knowledge! :)

Thanks for this ditl. Your skin looks so glowy in the sun. Hopefully a skin care routine can be included in all the things at some point. 35:47🤞🏾

I plan to do some mock inspections in the future to show what to do once you’re in a home since I can’t film the real ones. Stay tuned!!

Kela! Thank you for these videos. I'm thinking of getting into this but I wanted to ask what time you pick up your kiddo? I'm trying to figure out how to make it work with my own child and their school schedule

Omg you’re so welcome thank you for watching!! So I don’t have a set time to pick him up, but my work day ends around 4:15ish so I grab him after which ends up being around 4:30ish. You can definitely work this type of job into your kids schedule

Have you thought about doing 1:1 classes? I just want to learn everything I possibly can before getting my license.

I have actually but right now I don’t have the bandwidth to do so, once I am though I’d make an announcement, I know that can help a lot of people!

How many states are you licensed in? I have watched videos where they have said to get licensed in your home state and coastal states to be successful. What’s your opinion?

Of top I don’t know how many states in licensed in. I got licensed in Florida first but that license can transfer to the surrounding states so I’m for sure licensed in most of the south and some of the east coast, my previous company did the paper work on my behalf. As far as being licensed in the home state and coastal I think it’ll depends. For example since I’m in CA, it’s not a requirement for all companies for me to be licensed. When I worked for companies that had a footprint out of state, they wouldn’t have hired me without a license OR without being willing to get it through them. If you plan to travel or be an IA I highly recommend it.

Now that you are with Large loss, your company does not have personal property large loss? Also how it feels with the amount claims. I am field adjuster with 11 claims a week… how many do you have and how feels not being out every day.

That’s a good question, some companies do have the personal property large loss adjusters but where I’m at I still handle it, but it’s not that bad because we use vendors. I’m basically just adjusting it but they do the actual inventory and pricing. I remember the 11-15 claims a week that got old for me. Now I get about 2-3 claims per week. The trade off is I have to drive further and a lot of the claims are PA and attorney rep’d but because I have the experience to handle those now I feel I can actually breathe.
