I can really relate to what you said about eating alone. I travelled solo for the first time last year and I enjoyed the trip but there were a few times when I was in the airport or at dinner, I felt like I would have liked someone to be with me.

Hi, I love traveling alone. And as you say, reading your book, or people watching, or in my case, listening, I can’t see very well, is great fun. I did have someone in Singapore say to me though that they thought my life must be very lonely because I was always on my own, and I am blind… I had to explain that I was actually reading a really good book, and wanted to be on my own. Anyway, we ended up speaking, he bought me dinner, and we had a really good time. I speak quite a few languages, but it can sometimes be interesting to hear peoples take on travelers with a disability. I don’t think I would’ve had such a comment otherwise. I used to be able to see enough to read print books, I had these huge glasses, and my nose would practically be in the book, but it was easier for people to understand that I was reading a book. Now, I do still read, but on my iPad, and people don’t always understand what I’m doing. Also, sometimes they would see my book cover and talk to me and ask me questions on what I was reading, if it was a fellow bookworm. Enjoy the Philippines. The last time I was there was in 2017. I can take you to the provinces see the green environment - rain forest - water falls - rivers - rice fields - coco plantation and taste local wines - as well as meeting local people. You should not travel alone 'cause you will not see the sides of the islands.

Oh boy last time I was in Boracay it was much less busy. Seems the Filipinas are making up for lost time! May I suggest Bantayan or Malapascua islands and just as beautiful. Oh your going to El Nido, don’t miss Nacpan beach, it’s amazing!
