I had an absolutely horrid day so coming home to another video was really lovely. Thank you for that! Edit: just finished watching, I'm a cis guy, and have shared some of the concerns you have with regards to being "soft" or non-muscular etc etc because I didn't feel masculine enough compared to other men. But as I'm also gay, I realise a lot of people in our community very much appreciate body types that aren't so masculine. I quite admire the more feminine men! I also remember you talking about how you don't like your curves, but I just want you to know that it's okay for men to have them. I don't mean to invalidate your feelings in saying that, just that I personally believe curves are nice on men and I like them a lot. The only thing I don't like is that my curves aren't more pronounced!

LOVE this video because I can so relate to it. I've not started T yet and only came out six months ago. I'm 49 and it took me a long time but it's been fantastic so far and has a feeling of coming home. I am a guy who likes being a more feminine man and am gay. It felt at first like FTM guys really lean towards the bearded buff end, some even going on how they don't want to be a "pussy" etc which I find disturbing. We don't have to embrace misogyny to be men. Anyways, I have very similar concerns as to what you had and this video has helped alleviate them to a degree as well as showing that we don't all have to be the same. There's room for all.

Transfemale here: 6:40 It might be the variety in frequencies you use while talking (something MtF transgender people sometimes need to train using voice-therapy after having talked reasonably mono-tone for years). There are such small subtle things in using our voice that can make a difference, one of the things I learned for myself was stopping to inhale air and then blurt out whatever I would say, but instead use air I already had present to make things come out softer. The thing you mentioned about being scared to come over wrong to girls, I obviously don't know your history, but: I have a babyface (I got mistaken for a 12-14 year old at the end of 2019 while being 31) and I was scared of contact with girls/women when not on hormones after some of the first experiences of guys trying to hit on me in some sort of way (I was lucky and passed reasonably well without hormones after having gone through boy puberty) and I seemed to also have this aura that basically kept girls/women at a certain distance, and I am still uncomfortable now that I am on hormones, after finding out (pre- and while on hormones) how the attention of guys towards women usually comes during times of the day you are absolutely not asking for it (grocery shopping, for instance). So, maybe you unintentionally picked up how men tend to behave towards women while having the "heritage" of partially being raised as one (even though your mind obviously did not line up like in most other people) that now makes you scared of how you are perceived. (Oh, and also, I basically had the same kind of figure as you concerning arm strength and height, I am 1 meter and 70 centimeters, I was very frail looking and have always been, but still I became cautious of complimenting women in much the same way after noticing how men could be and even though I never acted like that myself, it's something I always take into account.) You can probably understand how it rocked my world how, when hormones were doing weird stuff with my sense of smell and women (especially those who either got really serious periods or those who had been pregnant) started striking up conversations about everything I was experiencing because of hormones, and some shared their pregnancy stories with me. It was nice, but it was weird that there seemed to have been this switch somewhere that got flipped with hormones and I now was considered so much more approachable.

I like your voice, the fact that it is softer. You come across as very disarming, non-confrontational and compassionate. I have been to a couple of similar you tube channels since, and felt overwhelmed by the force of the voice. Last year I took a Russian martial arts course (Systema) run by an ex British army guy, and his voice is similar. His superiors told him that he had a very disaarming nature, and as a soldier, or any person, surely it is better to appear to reduce tension than to escalate it. Go with your nature and be kind to yourself.
@77pete76 жыл бұрын
With girls, I feel that insecurityies about creepiness will help you to come across exactly so. The subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between ‘want to’ and ‘don’t want to,’ but works on what you focus on. So, just focus on being kind and helpful, etc.

omg you're such a wholesome guy!! Especially the last few minutes were so relatable though because I am just as awkward around girls for the same reasons! (I'm not on T yet though, so I'm probably even less intimidating than you are xD ) I think it depends on _how_ you compliment someone - if you say it casually with a nice smile it's not weird at all! I'm also trans masculine thinking about HRT and honestly your voice is goals. I love that you speak "kind". It still sounds undoubtedly manly to me and not at all like a girl. Just like a friendly, gentle guy. I'd probably befriend you instantly bc I'm the same and I like people who are friendly and sensitive. Ironically if it comes to myself I feel bad about it and not manly enough for all the same reasons. I also wonder about the "being nice to girls" issue bc honestly I grew up thinking I was female and between girls it's very normal and natural to complement each other. It's a sign of support and kindness, so... yeah I'm glad to see others seem to also get stressed out about stuff like this.. 😅

Honestly, that last one I feel the same way about. I think it has to do more with how society views men sometimes. Like they're this big scary guy. And of course, not everyone thinks that, but for the few that do, it can make you feel scared because you dont want to make anybody uncomfortable or scared themselves. In fact, I'm not on testosterone but sometimes when I walk behind a female, she will cross the road, walk faster, or wait for me to walk ahead. And it always makes me feel bad because I dont want to be seen as this scary person. But I have a suggestion for a video, you can talk about where you're from and what norway is like. Kind of like a video for tourists. What they should and shouldnt do when visiting your country, what hospitals are like, etc. Because I'm in America and would love to visit norway sometime.

I feel what you mean about extra fear around making girls uncomfortable especially on T. My best friend is also a girl and I’ve been a lot more worried about seeming too much like her boyfriend or something. I’ve lately been super self-conscious about seeming like a perv or coming off as “creepy” because that’s how society labels some men who show affection (especially towards little kids).

Kovu you are just amazing as you are. When I found your Channel, I thought you are just a talented little boy. Now you've grown up to a young Man with an absolutely beautiful warm and deep voice and a pure heart. I'm so glad for you. I hope you'll be completely happy with yourself soon.

I've been looking at your videos for like. quite long, before you were on testosterone. I just could relate so much to all of your super funny and also, sad videos. I was like a little scared to watch newer videos because I used to compare myself alot to you. and Im not transitioning yet. but it was such a stupid thing thinking you've changed from the inside. even though I think you did. You look much happier. and I love to see that. youre really inspirating and I hope I'll ever be like you.

Looking at your videos now compared to your older ones, there is a huge difference in your voice. It’s great how it’s changed for you on testosterone and you definitely sound amazing I can agree that your mind is probably the cause of the thoughts about having a girly voice as many people do have this issue I’ve encountered but you definitely sound like a teenage boy to me
