Very informative and valuable video. I cringe whenever I see a mouse in a barren 12 inch aquarium. They're intelligent and curious little animals, and once you really get to know them, you'll see just how happy and grateful they can be for what you do for them.

I do they seem fine they even chew it off I put a whole bunch on the little plastic nut that holds the spinner wheel on because otherwise they chew the nut right up and the wheel falls off and I have to get something else to work but I solved the problem by using hot glue and making the nut three times the size and they sometimes chew on it a bit but they give up before getting down to the plastic so ya it's fine they don't eat it and you can get non toxic glue sticks that's what I use although I didn't notice that until I read the bag after using them for years

Thx!!~ I've been trying to get some new stuff for my mice as 4/5 of them are super intelligent and I've run out of ways to re-arrange their cage as it is... sadly it's getting a bit small (Don't get me wrong, it's 3 story high and normal width, but I'm trying to find a bigger one for them as I din't really have any other area to exercise them on except my bed... thx for the help!!!~ (Also my craftsmanship is no where near good enough to make them one... ((A Cage)).) XD :3 :D :D :D

+Ilana Bram XD I probably will at one point... but my channel's anime orientated (just a few hours ago I reached over a 100 subscribers!!!~ XD and one of my videos got over 8,000 views... and since I upload AMV's and anime crack it would be hard. I'll probably upload it privately and then I can give you permission to watch. XD (Complicated youtube stuffz. :P :3) yeah, I've managed to find a spare, reasonably sized storage container (plastic) that's high enough so that they can't get out, I'm currently using this as their 'play area' (which their enjoying) only problem is with their normal cage (Which you just reminded me I have to clean today... XD) and with this my entire desk is taken up. "^w^ (Also I don't have a hot glue gun. T^T QwQ I want one... but-... 14 year olds don't exactly have a-... 'large' allowance. 6$ a week... if I do all my chores.) Also do you know any good places to buy cages? I live in North Perth (WA) and small animal shops are rare, there's only one that even sells mice! and I'm currently using their biggest cage, and rat cages have too wide a bar space for me too use despite them being the perfect size... * sigh * I don't really trust shopping online but if you know any good places that would be helpful!~ (I'm currently using a bar cage which I know can occasionally hurt their little feet.) but they all love climbing and fish tanks are really... really... expensive. XD :3 :D ((Thx for any help!!!~)) -Pika!~... :3 XD :D :D :D

+Ilana Bram MY MICE: I currently have 5 Fancy mice, I'm also looking after one for a friend though she may end up being mine as she has developed quite a strong bond too mine and wasn't introduced to the others before being handed to me as she was too young for my friend to control, she bit him a few times and could escape from his cage because she was extremely small, she's now been taken in lovingly by my mice and, despite bing rather skittish enjoys both human and mouse interaction. 1st pair: Bolt (Female, Deceased.) I loved her very much, she was my first mouse... I'll never forget the little sweetie who has always up for a ride on my shoulder, she died after her step-sister cream, she obviously missed her as they'd been together for as long as I can remember although she stayed strong as the 'Alpha' mouse, always taking care of the others. Cream (Her step-Sister, Female, Deceased) this little darling suffered a stroke while in my friends care, she survived but lost a significant amount of motor function on her right side and was obviously in a small amount of pain for the most part consistently, but despite that still always had fun with the others... She passed away peacefully in her sleep. 2nd Pair: Nugget (Female, Deceased) She was a chubby little darling, she started off underweight and small, she was a biter in her young days but as she got older became very friendly and especially loving of Cream, always helping out looking after her, she even refused to let go as I tried to take her away, it was quite tear-jerking, she had a happy few last days though. Zippy (Female, Alive, older step-sister of Nugget) This little darling is extremely old and she could die any day now by the signs she's been showing, she was, and still is, the faster mouse I've ever met, she looks a lot like a slider version of flower to be honest which I found quite hilarious, she was always playful and loved to her learn new tricks, for now I'm just keeping her comfy in her last few days. Single (3rd) Mouse: Night (Female, Alive, current 'Alpha') She's right in the brim of adulthood, she's a big mouse but in no means fat, it's all muscle and she has enough strength to push around most objects in the cage, although she's rather strict she's a loving little girl, always staying on guard and cuddling the other mice to make sure they're all safe, going and checking on any of the others that fell asleep away from the group and cuddling up with them, she the most intelligent mouse I've seen and has an extremely short attention-span, I sometimes, and currently am struggling to keep her entertained. 3rd pair (4th and 5th mice): Cow (Female, Alive) She's a feisty little thing, she's completely reluctant to be hand-trained and obviously want's nothing to do with it so unless I need to give her a check-up or give her a bath (I only bath them once every 6 months to a year, and only if they really need it, I know the correct procedure). She acts tuff but is extremely caring to her disabled sister, protecting her quite adorably, (She recently had a small eye-infection that has since gotten better). Sherbet (Female, Alive) Sherbet has a growth-development disability, meaning she's small and a lot weaker than the others, her intelligence is fairly low and she has minor difficulty walking with her back legs but the little girl never gives up hope, always trying her best and all the others helping out, she's currently been doing some special 'training' with me that's gotten her strength up quite a lot, she's always playful and loves being held. (But much prefers a good nap). Single (6th) Mouse: Pudding (Female, Alive) Pudding is another little chubby, she's occasionally vicious towards the others but never hurts them, and in the end they always end up cuddling up against her, she's rather sneaky and I'm pretty sure is trying to lose some weight since every-time she eats she'll always hop right onto the wheel after!!~ My friends Mouse: (He named her night-slash... but we call her 'Baby' for now.) ((Female, Alive)) She's very young and extremely curious, she always wants to play and loves interacting with humans but is still suspicious of being held, I'm currently getting her used to my hand, my friend, who's fairly new to mice didn't know how to handle her, as her past three mice (All in late last year) have been extremely timid. I've currently taken her in but from the bond they've gain I'm not entirely sure about what to do.

How do you make a play pen for time outside the cage? Cheapest one I found was $30 :/
@BorntoBehave
@BorntoBehave 4 жыл бұрын
Mariahc357 you can just put down blanket or paper on a table and lay out a bunch of things for them to climb on (easy to make out of cardboard boxes, popsicle sticks, egg cartons) and supervise them the whole time they play. Then put them back in their cage, put he toys away in a regular box, and throw out the paper or wash the cloth that you used.

My dog brought me a baby mouse I have been taking care of him I named him Gus I bottle feed him goat milk and everything, my brothers want him dead sense we have an infestation but I have come to love this lil guy… I’m hoping to convince my mother to talk to my landlords so I can keep him, if I can’t he most likely die in the wild or get eaten by a snake if I sell him :’/
@BorntoBehave
@BorntoBehave Жыл бұрын
That’s a difficult situation to be in. Once you bottle feed a baby animal it becomes your baby too. How long have you had him now?
@Freedomfred25
@Freedomfred25 Жыл бұрын
@@BorntoBehave I’ve had him for 3 days now.
@BorntoBehave
@BorntoBehave Жыл бұрын
@@Freedomfred25 your situation is tricky because a wild mouse can carry diseases (so has to be kept carefully not to expose other animals and people), and while he’s going to be tame he is still wild and will need special care. Lots of space, enrichment, and he might be aggressive and fearful with new people (and even with you down the line, it depends). I agree that releasing him at a young age is bad- mice are very territorial and if Gus is a male that means fighting to the death if necessary over a territory. Another male would fight him if he’s young. If he’s well fed and strong he could possibly defeat a local male. Gus could be a female though. In any case, you can’t release him in his natural habitat because the natural habitat for a house mouse is .. a house. And no one wants a mouse in their house. If he or she survives and thrives, he’d cause damage to the house and would probably end up being poisoned by the people living there. And of course it’s not nice to the people, and you’d be displacing / killing another mouse to give him his territory. So, a nice large enclosure / cage with a ton of good enrichment is the only humane solution I see if you want to keep him alive. Adult male mice smell very bad, you can’t really keep them in a home (so maybe a nature center?). If you did sell him for $10 he won’t be snake food because snake owners buy mice for a lot less than that. No one would pay that much for a mouse. And snake owners would be nervous feeding a wild mouse to their pet, since he could carry disease. So I wouldn’t worry about that part. You’re in a rough spot because we do get so attached to animals we raise as babies. I’m sorry. There’s unfortunately a good change he won’t make it to maturity, because bottle feeding a mouse is very difficult. I once kept a baby mouse alive for ten days before she died - my friend found her as a newborn and I fed her every 60-90 minutes around the clock and still couldn’t save her. Maybe you found Gus at an older age and will have better luck. I wish I had a good solution for you but unfortunately it’s really not easy.
