Slow-mo zooms is one of the best things ever added to the series. Made T7 really hype from a spectators perspective be it from actual hype shit or goofy stuff where the slow mo broke. Joel's Skeletor Pizza still cracks me up to this day.

For real. Me and my friends were always casual enjoyers or Tekken, we actually loved TT2 even if we were all trash. But nothing ever came close to the hype T7 gave us when we'd have a close ass match and it came down to the slomo.

I’m surprised that you didn’t mention how Tekken 7 was a send off not only to Heihachi ,but to his voice actor, who sadly ended his life before the game went into production. Heihachi’s dialogue was done with stock voice recordings from throughout the series. That was what made Heihachi’s story ending in Tekken 7 become so emotional.

I was waiting for you to post this for one main reason. One of my really good friend's who passed away back when this first released, he got me back into Tekken and it was with Tekken 7. He was like a brother to me. I'll never forget him. We trained together and he taught me so much. I'm a better player now because of him and for the rest of my life, I will buy every Tekken that comes out, no matter what! Another cool thing about him too, he was making his own fighting game at a time, but was never able to finish it for obvious reasons. Very talented he was on so many levels. So yeah, Tekken 7 and the series now in general will always have a special place in my heart because of him! He was also a fan of you as well Max. Both watched you since back in the day and have always had so much respect for you! Can't wait for Tekken 8! Love the vid! Thanks for the memories dood! ✌🏼

So to add to this "Tekken 7 is a game for the world. I live in Denmark. Everywhere you went it was mostly exclusively Tekken or Soul Calibur everyone had. On the topic of Tekken 7: I'm a Tekken kid at heart. The first game (it was my actual first played video game) i can recall playing was tekken 2 on the PSone back in 2003 (i'm from '98 so that's 5 year old me just hitting buttons not knowing what i'm doing) but because i had a temper problem i weren't allowed to play it that much. Fast forward a bit and tekken 6 releases and i start to play tekken 5 on my friends xbox. It didn't stick to me so well, so i more or less quit playing. Quite a few years go by and we reach 2013 and i go to visit some friends of the family. They have an xbox with tekken 6 and i decided to give it a try. The story mode at the time was what was attracting my attention, because that kind of story mode in competitive fighting games was practically unheard of. But enter Soul Calibur 5 and because of it's cinematic story i swap tekken out immediately. I dabbled a bit with street fighter in between and pretty much knew all the hype of it. 2017 arrives and Tekken 7 comes out... akuma is in it... I had just started my collectors edition craze at the time, where i did the bonkers thing and bought the collectors edition of the game. Absolutely no regrets, because Tekken 7 it rekindled my fire for the series and the fighting game genre. And while it didn't do much for my friends at the time, it surely did for me. As a matter of fact, i'm waiting collectors edition of Tekken 8 to arrive on Friday, only because of the impact Tekken 7 has had on me for fighting games.

Tekken 7 will forever hold a special place in my heart. I've liked fighting games, Tekken especially, since I was a kid, but I was button mashing garbage at them. Tekken 7 was the first time I made a dedicated effort to truly learn how to play, and while I still can't kbd or Electric to save my life after 6+ years and hundreds of thousands of hours, I still achieved things I never thought I could. I got good. I'm not a tourny level player by any stretch, and my ranked win rate is barely 52%, but I'm still proud of that when I consider how little I knew or could do when I started.

This game gave me so many memories with my younger brother it legitimately helped me bond with him. Played and talked to people from other parts of the globe because of tekken 7. This is the first time i ever competed in a game and it helped me so much to break out of my shell. It's amazing what this game did for the FGC and for so many people in a personal level. It's bitter sweet. Seeing this game end and the new one is literally hours away. I will remember the experiences with people, the friends I have made salty and gotten salty from. The laughs and jumps of celebration. Tekken 7 you did good. Tekken 8 definitely has a hell of a hole to fill. And I am ready for the next battle.

It is probably the best story Tekken had. Everything they set up in all the games concludes, like an Avenger movie. Problem was the execution with the reporter, not only did it take up way too much time, the monotone way that guy narrated the events was absolute trash. It could have had a chance if they had cut it down a bit and giving that guy more personality...still even with that it wasnt the optimal way of doing it. If you play Tekken, you care about the known characters, not some normie from the "real world".

Its hard to believe Tekken 7 is finally ending as the latest released installment tomorrow. Despite the underwhelming story and all the other issues from overpowered DLC characters to general graphical letdowns, we have to give Tekken 7 a lot a props for essentially saving the franchise and giving us with tons of great years of tournaments to go along with it. 'm sure down the line everyone will be able to look back on this game as the one that really changed the reputation of the series from a dwindling IP to the absolute best 3D Fighting franchise of all time. Which is what makes me even more excited to see Tekken 8 do nearly everything better than the last one to the point where i don't think I'll ever look back to Tekken 7, much less play it ever again. to We have a lot to own Tekken 7 for basically saving the franchise but if I'm agree with you with one

Pakistan is like beating the final boss only to find a post credit boss that makes everyone look like chumps.

A fantastic series, Max. Such a well written and produced recap of its legacy. I might have to go out and buy a PS5 and Tekken 8 now 👍🏾

Guest characters had a HUGE impact in T7 marketing because it was really well done. After Geese and especially after Noctis, people kinda took it like a "trademark" and a crazy hype would start everytime a new DLC character was about to be revealed. Harada need to pick Sakurai's legacy and definitely continue to get cool collabs in T8 and I think that at this point, people kinda are expecting to be this way. There are names that I see pop up here and there for a long time and if Harada manages to put one (or more) in T8, people will lose their minds, are the following: Tifa (FF7), Akira (VF), Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza) and Ayane (DoA). I just wish they don't end adding WWE fighters 😅

Either Kiryu, Majima, or Ichiban would made me lose my shit. With Nagoshi not being in RGG anymore and Kiryu/Majima already appearing in Project X Zone and heck even shooting people in R6, I think it's a definite possibility.

I need either Kiryu or Baki.

I used to call the Arslan Ash story a shonen arc and I didn't think I'd see this exact feeling voiced here😭 Great video, that last part made me feel pretty emotional

My picks for any guest characters for Tekken 8 would be Baki, the bride ( Kill Bill ) and Yugo the wolf from bloody roar
@NeutralGuyDoubleZero5 ай бұрын
Or Kiryu from Yakuza

@@NeutralGuyDoubleZeroMajima or even Ichiban would be better, IMO.

Add Tifa to the list and ship it dude. Money practically roll in by themselves.

Baki or Pickle would be sick as hell, I don’t know if they’d go all the way for Yujiro because they’d almost HAVE to make him absolutely tier 0 broken lmao Personal pick (as someone who has never played TEKKEN) would be Jacket from Hotline Miami, I think he’d fit right into the cast of wacky violent mfs
@Johnnygga5 ай бұрын
Oh man I forgot about Yugo, that would actually be a pretty amazing crossover Or Zell from Final Fantasy VIII as a weird odd ball character

That Pakistani story is so great not just for branching out, but for the area it represents. Sure it's on the eastern end of the turmoil of the Middle East, but it's certainly an area that faces plenty of hardship and that's usually forced onto its citizens to adapt to the country's priorities It's just great they not only got a sizeable league going for the region, but that they could be the cream rising to the top at the final EVO of T7's tenure. It makes me wonder how many other countries have such sleeping potential that merely need the opportunity to make dreams come true

my 1st tekken was tag 2 i didnt even know about the franchise till then, but what really got me into tekken as a casual fan was the stories of players during tekken 7. the story of lil majin just breaking into that top 5 was insane to me knowing that for a while korea was the top of the game for a while. tekken 7 was fun to watch hard to play (for me) and being so big outside of NA was just so wild to think at the time.
