Slow-mo zooms is one of the best things ever added to the series. Made T7 really hype from a spectators perspective be it from actual hype shit or goofy stuff where the slow mo broke. Joel's Skeletor Pizza still cracks me up to this day.

For real. Me and my friends were always casual enjoyers or Tekken, we actually loved TT2 even if we were all trash. But nothing ever came close to the hype T7 gave us when we'd have a close ass match and it came down to the slomo.

25:49 LOVE the transition mid-10-hit-combo from child Kazuya to adult Kazuya and how Heihachi was eating those hits from the little boy to now where he’s crumbling from the sheer power of those attacks.

Tekken 7 saved me from spiraling after a tough break up. I needed something new to focus my attention on and a friend offered I try the game with him. Damn this made me emotional. The transition from the ending statement to “A fight is about who’s left standing. Nothing else.” really got me. This was a fantastic legacy. I’m surprised that you didn’t mention how Tekken 7 was a send off not only to Heihachi ,but to his voice actor, who sadly ended his life before the game went into production. Heihachi’s dialogue was done with stock voice recordings from throughout the series. That was what made Heihachi’s story ending in Tekken 7 become so emotional.

I was waiting for you to post this for one main reason. One of my really good friend's who passed away back when this first released, he got me back into Tekken and it was with Tekken 7. He was like a brother to me. I'll never forget him. We trained together and he taught me so much. I'm a better player now because of him and for the rest of my life, I will buy every Tekken that comes out, no matter what! Another cool thing about him too, he was making his own fighting game at a time, but was never able to finish it for obvious reasons. Very talented he was on so many levels. So yeah, Tekken 7 and the series now in general will always have a special place in my heart because of him! He was also a fan of you as well Max. Both watched you since back in the day and have always had so much respect for you! Can't wait for Tekken 8! Love the vid! Thanks for the memories dood! ✌🏼

So to add to this "Tekken 7 is a game for the world. I live in Denmark. Everywhere you went it was mostly exclusively Tekken or Soul Calibur everyone had. On the topic of Tekken 7: I'm a Tekken kid at heart. The first game (it was my actual first played video game) i can recall playing was tekken 2 on the PSone back in 2003 (i'm from '98 so that's 5 year old me just hitting buttons not knowing what i'm doing) but because i had a temper problem i weren't allowed to play it that much. Fast forward a bit and tekken 6 releases and i start to play tekken 5 on my friends xbox. It didn't stick to me so well, so i more or less quit playing. Quite a few years go by and we reach 2013 and i go to visit some friends of the family. They have an xbox with tekken 6 and i decided to give it a try. The story mode at the time was what was attracting my attention, because that kind of story mode in competitive fighting games was practically unheard of. But enter Soul Calibur 5 and because of it's cinematic story i swap tekken out immediately. I dabbled a bit with street fighter in between and pretty much knew all the hype of it. 2017 arrives and Tekken 7 comes out... akuma is in it... I had just started my collectors edition craze at the time, where i did the bonkers thing and bought the collectors edition of the game. Absolutely no regrets, because Tekken 7 it rekindled my fire for the series and the fighting game genre. And while it didn't do much for my friends at the time, it surely did for me. As a matter of fact, i'm waiting collectors edition of Tekken 8 to arrive on Friday, only because of the impact Tekken 7 has had on me for fighting games.

Man was I waiting for this one. I love tekken. But 7 was the first tekken game I ever decided to play more than just casually. This game has given me so much, I have traveled for this game, my first ever time going to EVO was for tekken 7. This game gave me so many memories with my younger brother it legitimately helped me bond with him. Played and talked to people from other parts of the globe because of tekken 7. This is the first time i ever competed in a game and it helped me so much to break out of my shell. It's amazing what this game did for the FGC and for so many people in a personal level. It's bitter sweet. Seeing this game end and the new one is literally hours away. I will remember the experiences with people, the friends I have made salty and gotten salty from. The laughs and jumps of celebration. Tekken 7 you did good. Tekken 8 definitely has a hell of a hole to fill. And I am ready for the next battle.

Tekken 7 will forever hold a special place in my heart. I've liked fighting games, Tekken especially, since I was a kid, but I was button mashing garbage at them. Tekken 7 was the first time I made a dedicated effort to truly learn how to play, and while I still can't kbd or Electric to save my life after 6+ years and hundreds of thousands of hours, I still achieved things I never thought I could. I got good. I'm not a tourny level player by any stretch, and my ranked win rate is barely 52%, but I'm still proud of that when I consider how little I knew or could do when I started.

Watching your Tekken Legacy series really makes me appreciate Tekken even more than I already do, To me Tekken is a huge part of my life and has been my favorite fighting game since I can remember. Its a game that's been a part of my family since 96 and following this series since I was 3 years old starting with T3 , now being a 28 year old man watching it throughout my life it makes me extremely happy seeing it become a world wide phenomenon, it feels like just yesterday getting the collector's edition of T7 on release but time flies the older you get. It feels bittersweet to let go of Tekken 7 but I love the time I spent playing it. Tekken 3, more specifically Tekken 4 was my starting point of how I got into the series from my dad and my brothers. Playing as King, Steve Fox, Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Paul Phoenix, he music, the aesthetics, the raw playing field of traversing from 2d to 3d perspective while giving them the meanest fades is simply the best childhood game I evwr played. What will Tekken 8 deliver in the coming days is simply going to be worth the wait. I'm also looking forward to the upcoming tournaments and future characters soon. Can't wait fir the next battle!

It is probably the best story Tekken had. Everything they set up in all the games concludes, like an Avenger movie. Problem was the execution with the reporter, not only did it take up way too much time, the monotone way that guy narrated the events was absolute trash. It could have had a chance if they had cut it down a bit and giving that guy more personality...still even with that it wasnt the optimal way of doing it. If you play Tekken, you care about the known characters, not some normie from the "real world".

That Pakistani story is so great not just for branching out, but for the area it represents. Sure it's on the eastern end of the turmoil of the Middle East, but it's certainly an area that faces plenty of hardship and that's usually forced onto its citizens to adapt to the country's priorities It's just great they not only got a sizeable league going for the region, but that they could be the cream rising to the top at the final EVO of T7's tenure. It makes me wonder how many other countries have such sleeping potential that merely need the opportunity to make dreams come true

Tekken 7 has done so many things for me. It got me off of my League of Legends addiction, it helped me through so many bad times like when i was hospitalized and only could go home on weekends, i would play all day and even at the mental hospital i would study yoshimitsu flowcharts and moves via a PDF thats still out there. I played so much Tekken getting better at it that i thought "what else could i be good at if i spent the time?" So i started learning 3D Modelling and Animation, Game development in unreal engine, a bit of C++ (still learning, its tough..) etc. Man its really been a long time, and i love this game with all my heart. Its hard to believe Tekken 7 is finally ending as the latest released installment tomorrow. Despite the underwhelming story and all the other issues from overpowered DLC characters to general graphical letdowns, we have to give Tekken 7 a lot a props for essentially saving the franchise and giving us with tons of great years of tournaments to go along with it. 'm sure down the line everyone will be able to look back on this game as the one that really changed the reputation of the series from a dwindling IP to the absolute best 3D Fighting franchise of all time. Which is what makes me even more excited to see Tekken 8 do nearly everything better than the last one to the point where i don't think I'll ever look back to Tekken 7, much less play it ever again. to We have a lot to own Tekken 7 for basically saving the franchise but if I'm agree with you with one

Best thing is that we have a straightforward campaign structure that didn't overstay its welcome while still delivering on hype moments. A good middle ground between the standard arcade endings which can feel too disconnected and T6's Scenario Campaign which is just absolutely bloated. And thankfully T8 follows this with more budget while also bringing back character endings.

The Infinite Azure theme, Moonsiders 1st, is one of my favorite video game songs ever! I've spent countless hours listening to it while labbing. The angelic melody contrasted with the thumping bass is sublime, and when the beat really kicks in it's impossible not to nod your head along. Love the Smash remix too, glad it's one they brought over with Kazuya

One part Max sort of didn't explain well, is how hype of a game Tekken is to watch. Outside of the projectiles of the guest characters, all you see is visceral hand to hand combat, and due to its 3d nature every action is seen on screen. This game was a true combat game. Also the commentary went BONKERS. There's a reason why "Good Ass Tekken" is a catchphrase

The ending with that tender message of T7's impact despite everything around the world going into a kickass montage of the big Tekken 7 story fights ending with Tekken 8's reveal playing to Heat Haze Shadow not only was such a good sendoff, but even the track itself seems to naturally lead into Tekken 8 as well with how that epic opening theme sounds so similar to it

DLC support and Akuma are why Tekken got back popular with the casuals. However, let's be honest, in terms of quality and offline content (story, arcade, bowling, force etc) this was easily one of the worst Tekken games. The story with Akuma was forced and leaves a big plot hole. Akuma isn't even T8 to fulfill his promise to Kasumi lol. Jin (the protagonist) was irrelevant here and other characters were horribly handled.

Won't lie, got a bit emotional, for Max it was off the cuff but it felt like a documentary. It was such a crazy rise man, before 7 Tekken basically had zero tournament presence, it had its famous pro players and committed communities in America but it was a side game at EVO, then when the main EVO games stumbled Tekken 7 was right there, with Akuma, to take every single bit of the limelight, i watched Street Fighter pros try the game, i watched basically everyone fall in love with it, people from all over the FGC were suddenly asking "hey guys... how do i get good at Tekken?". For me, a Tekken fan since 1995, it felt like the biggest redemption story of all time. The Geese reaction was so frigging amazing, it sparked so much hype and conversation, i've always felt that Tifa would fit the game better than Noctis, FF7 Remake is still in production so they SHOULD right that wrong in T8, but it's hard to argue that the Noctis play style really resonated with a lot of people, to the point that a Noctis-like is in the next game, what other fighting game brought in so many fan bases, SNK, Capcom, Square and The Walking Dead? Insane, they even gave Poland a character, man i hope Lidia comes back. With so many updates the balance has shuffled all over the place but has been great for variety, towards the end people were moaning about the number of Kunimitsu's, but then Arslan wins the final Tekken 7 tournament with Nina and, of all people, Katarina... what an amazing final twist to wind up the games incredible life, i don't know if we'll revisit this one with the same child like glee we get from the older games, but it's more than earned its place at the top of the pile.
