Good interview 😊 I had a limerent episode in the past, was obsessed with my LO, we got together and after a short while I was disinterested, I ended it. I've learned about myself that I'm emotionally unavailable. I keep working on myself continuously, it's been nearly 4 years.

Im glad theres a term for this. Probably something Ive had for a long time looking back at the people I liked. I thought I was just crazy and it is shameful to feel. I pray it goes away one day.

This helped me so much. Thank you from my heart. I have been going through the same thing. It has been seven years four months since I met the person. It has been six years and two months since they left my area. It has been very confusing to me.

This was really great. Also an example of how lemerence can actually in a way cause the renewal of a marriage or be a turning point in people’s lives. I’m not saying it’s good, but good can come of it.

It's true it can be a catalyst for change and growth. Some experts say, and I agree with them, that its presence indicates a need to grow and expand our self image, and our life, through new experiences and actions.

That was very helpful to see what her experience was and is and to relate it to myself. It brings some insight. I would love to hear more personal stories of limerence. Thank-you.

It's good to hear someone else share their story. Eye opening. To me I am afraid limerence will prevent me from finding real relationship. Beeing inolved emotionally with lo and not being emotionally free and some what actions are also hijacked.

I was an LO. Not much from that standpoint. I wish I would have known about all this. I’m sure I would have handled my part differently

From what I read it's partly caused by a neurotic branch of OCD, hyper-sensitive amygdala which makes sense. And then environment and debilitating belief systems which can be changed.

So is the intensity based on taboo? It just seems odd that people say I've never felt this intensity before. When I found text from my spouse to his AP he stated how intense his feelings were.
@limerence.net13 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the intensity is based on taboo. I think it is based on something deeply unconscious being activated in the person with limerence that then releases a surge of neuro chemicals in the brain that creates intense feelings unlike any other. We still don’t really understand the origins of limerence and not enough research has been done on this condition. When working with couples we often hear this dynamic goingOn, often being described as like meeting our soulmate. It is an involuntary condition as hard as that is for the betrayed to understand and appreciate. It is not to excuse the behaviour of the person that is the betrayer, ultimately that responsibility does lay with them

If woman has feelings that strong for another man why would you not leave her. Am just trying to understand why she wanted him to fight for her ( why)?

because it feels good to see someone fight for you

You don't know what you would do in that position and 50% of the problem, is probably yourself.
