A First Look at Infinity Battlescape | N00b in the Cockpit

Hi everyone, I have been playing around with Infinity Battlescape for a bit now, and wanted to do a short video to show off some of its awesomeness.
Initially, I actually refunded this game on Steam but came back to give it another try, and boy am I happy I did. If you're into space-combat simulators and haven't already given this a try, then perhaps now is the time to consider?

If this game had a single player mode, or an open world - sign up and kill things mode, I would totally grab this. But limited to online PVP? No danger.

You should play EVE Online. It doesn't have offline mode. But that's what makes it soooooo exciting.

same, considered it, i dont mind pvp, but id prefer a mode to just explore and do my own thing. Which is exactly why i can enjoy star citizen and elite. Even in star citizen, 9 times out of 10 i dont really see anyone out in the verse. Ill see people at stations but after that out in aarons halo i dont see anyone.

@@stardaggerrihannsu2363 not if you can live with 1080p as I still do... then about 800 - 1000€ should be alright, even less If you know someone who can help you with finding good 2nd hand wear. But that really needs some experience.

Only third person for bigger ships is ... IDK. I'd love to see an interior with the whole crew working for you, where you're forced to make more strategic decisions rather than merely tactical ones, and where it's about commanding your crew well more than dogfighting. That should be the biggest difference between a fighter and a capital ship IMHO.

The game you're looking for is X4 Foundations, then. Highly recommend, if you're in the mood for some in depth economic simulation and empire management in space. I'm back on a Star Citizen kick at the moment, which is probably why this popped up in my feed.

This could have been such an amazing game, if they'd done a Kickstarter. Original title for the game is "Infinity: Quest For Earth" and it was supposed to be a grand scale space game with lots of innovating technologies (one of which is the in-house engine) and a much bigger universe than Star Citizen. I've been following the game for almost two decades and I'm just so disappointed that it's never amounted to anything more than this watered down 'Battlescape' crap☹

Uh.. it _is_ an amazing game. I play it pretty regularly. Quest for Earth was just an older implementation of the engine with a different idea, one they still plan on implementing, if you've ever paid any attention to the devs. Just because it's not _yet another_ exhausting, open world space game doesn't mean it's not great on its own.

And I followed the development of the game - even before anything was playable almost 20 years ago - up until they announced they wouldn't do a Kickstarter campaign. I then saw how pretty much all public interest dropped off and the game sank into obscurity being bypassed by Elite: Dangerous and later Star Citizen (which is not done yet, but still promises most of what Infinity: QfE did and in most cases more). Whenever any new announcements of open world space games were made, I always thougtht of Infinity: Quest for Earth and what could have been. It may be one of the biggest disappointments in my entire life as a gamer, and I've been playing computer games since the mid-80s.

Obviously this game needs to turn around to a voice over hud, where the hud items are announced to add to the cinematic feel of that trailer so much so that a player doesn't see any hud elements at all for maximum cinematic feel. The trailer promised cinematic feel, ships and the like crying out their problems, ATC voice over. That's all this game needs. That and get rid of the spacerocket gas trail, the warp fast comic lines, and the space dot dust movement dots.

I got this game after watching your video. It's been on my wishlist but I was waiting for more content. Looks good but the only mission is the grand PvP battle with stations and cruisers. It needs more to do like a campaign or side mission.

A space sim? Seems more like in atmosphere aerial combat. The only “space” time seems to be a dark atmosphere between encounters

I don't like the sound loop inside the ship. A bit annoying and sounds like an elevator from the 50's. Freespace 2 is still to this day my favorite of all time even before they released the HD mod.

I think he said he is not into it yet, some people have a lower tolerance to early access titles and Star Citizen has A LOT of bugs that taints the experience and horrible performance because of unsuitable backend structure, only know with the promise of first implementation of server meshing it's looking like it will be a more stable and enjoyable experience. Also of the quality of life improvements, the gen 12 render, new professions/gameplay loops, ever more deployment of the quantum simulation, polishing of core aspect like the currently going rework of the flight model, etc. I've have know Star Citizen since the kickstarter, outside one time here and there never touch it because I don't like to experience unfinished products and that is a perfect reason to wait until it's reach anyone personal standard of good enough.

Legit just paid for this disappointment in n price cause honestly I am negative now but meh. Here’s to hoping my old labtop can handle it XD I played elite dangerous on Xbox till never got the update to walk around my ship, all that so I lost interest and have not touched it in years. The combat do be looking nice why I wanted it. I am a Xbox gamer this will give me a reason to use my labtop and steam that is from 2017 haha😢 I hope I can use my Xbox controller I hate keyboard and mouse 😅
