Well done mate and a great use of local produce. Bit of mushroom foraging in the autumn and some goodies from the garden in combo and yes you are absolutely right about this bountiful country of ours.

Looks tasty Dave! A few anchovies would go well too but, I'm guessing the smoked tommies would be similar. Now I want your pizza! Haha. I cooked a Korean squid soup the other night. That was good!
@davidsheldonfishing97263 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, it was not bad at all. Funny you mentioned the anchovies first time I haven't used, but first time I have used smoked fish they worked a treat. That Korean squid soup sounds nice I will see if I can find the recipe. good to hear from you again bud.

@@davidsheldonfishing9726 no worries. I'm looking forward to getting some tommies soon to stick in the smoker. When I made the soup, I looked at a few recipes and then mixed it up. The squid comes out nice and tender. I think I cooked mine for about 30 to 40 minutes.

Hi mate, thanks for all the varied information in regards to fishing in SA,my 10 year old son has really taken to fishing, we are learning SA, we can regularly pump nippers for chasing yellowfin whiting but have had little luck finding any at the local beaches. We have just started chasing beach worms had no trouble finding them but they are tricky fun but tricky. Are metro beaches any good for fishing we have tried many times with nippers for bait but have not caught 1 Yellowfin this Summer. Thanks
@davidsheldonfishing97263 жыл бұрын
Hi Francis, its my pleasure and nice to hear the young fellow has caught the fishing bug, great. Sad to hear about the yellowfin whiting they use to be so spread you could find them off all metro beaches and of most jetties fishing in the shallows, I use to fish around Port Noarlunga and use to catch Yellowfins every where around there. Osullivans beach, Christies beach, South port, Port Willunga etc. I live down South now and have caught lots of yellowfins of Carrickalinga Beach and further down the coast but over the last few years there has been a big decline in numbers, hopefully things will improve in time. Mullet season starts in late February, use beach worm for bait and you may catch a yellowfin trying for them before the season ends. Also have you tried to look for them at low tide in shallow water middle of the day with polaroid sun glasses especially where you get the Nippers and worms, you probably have. All the best and tight lines Francis and Son.
