What was cool was that the enlisted dude got saluted by the officer before he even started to salute the officer... lol. You almost never see that. Screw waiting for the subordinate to initiate the due courtesy and respect. He just wants to get his bird into the sky, not power trip over his rank or grade. It's an awesome mix of the true respect the pilots have for their ground and maintenance crews and the love they have for flying.

The T-6B has some stuff that's not seen in previous primary trainers that u have 2 wait until u get 2 an operational aircraft 2c it such as 4th or 5th gen fighters such as F-18, F-15E, or F-22. It has an all digital glass cockpit displays & a HUD. It's also really useful 4 training anyone who would fly larger airplanes like the C-17, C-130, or bomber aircraft.

All Air Force pilots learn on the Texan first then they will branch off to the T-1 jayhawk for heavies the T-38 for fighters till that gets replaced by the T-7A
@gundamdunham7479
@gundamdunham7479 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mustang6971 While the T-6A had just one display, the T-6B is an all glass cockpit, but in older trainers such as the wasp engine powered WW2 original Texan & the T-37 Tweet, the cockpit is mostly analog w/ dials & gauges. Comparing these planes w/ the turboprop T-6B is like making a comparison between my old Nintendo & the latest PS5 or the newest Xbox console. The different is crystal clear.

Thanks for the vid. Years ago B-52 Wings also had a T-37 detachment so co pilots could build up flying hours. I have often wondered if an F-35 wing was structured so it also had a T-6 det or even squadron where an F-35 pilot could also have some monthly flying hours in the T-6 for just good flying hour efforts. Someone could always shoot this idea down as being too expensive but I think it would be good given F-35 availability with current schedules. "Hey, I don't have an F-35 hop for a few days but I can do some basic airmanship hops to stay fresh with the T-6."

@LaxMan2k
@LaxMan2k 3 жыл бұрын
@@mgtowacademy8433 I am commissioning in May through ROTC. 4 years in the program from freshman to senior year. There are options to do a 3 year and join the program as a 250 your sophomore year or a lucrative 2 year contract with prior service/active duty transition. If you are further than a sophomore and do not have prior service you will have to add on time to your degree to meet the 3 year minimum. This applies only to ROTC and the route through OTS is different. You can go to OTS as an Airman who is already enlisted or as a civilian as long as in both cases you have at least a bachelors degree.

@@mgtowacademy8433 PPL is definitely beneficial but is not required at all. I got my slot with only 6 flight hours and know several people who have gotten a pilot slot without any flight hours. The biggest thing is making sure your metrics that you control, grades, PT test, and commanders ranking, are as well off as they can be. Commanders ranking is tied into your PT test and grades but also what you do to help out your fellow cadets and stand out as a candidate

I hadn't really thought about how much of change in training capability the AF's new Advanced Trainer was going to bring until this video. I think the new Student Pilots are going to have a training environment that's much better suited to training military pilots and they should have a much easier time transitioning from the new advanced trainer to their next aircraft, no matter which type.
