Jesus, it's been 41 years since I first watched them on MTV. It's crazy how 41 years just flashed by. Man, the 80's, what a time to be alive. No matter how much our society has gone down the drain, I'll always have my memories of the 80's. If I had only one wish, I'd wish that my life could be put on repeat from 1978 - 1989 and live there forever. Those were the magic years for me. I lived them, I loved them, I miss them.

My question is are they toring with the original lineup or is it the lineup that Mike score made up?
@apieceofdirt46813 жыл бұрын
@@mikefobfan101 I think it’s all original members. As they got older they realized their petty infighting was lame af. As a group they were popular but as solo artists none of them were that great on their respective instruments imo. It took some time for some of the members to realize that but once they did they got back together. They never should’ve broken up.
@AJ17_2 жыл бұрын
@@mikefobfan101 Not the original lineup touring. It's Mike and his backup band. The original lineup hasn't toured together since the very brief reunion tour they did in 2004 after Bands Reunited. It fizzled out quickly as they started fighting again and old drama resurfaced. The reunion in 2018 wasn't much of a real one either as they all recorded their parts separately and sent them in to be mixed. The video they did for the orchestral version of Space Age Love Song was basically done at a moment's notice. Mike was in Liverpool for a couple days, found out Paul & Frank were available, so the 3 of them filmed their parts together in the studio (Ali filmed his part separate as he lives in America). And that was it. They're all friends, but they really can only get along as long as no one brings up any past BS. If that happens... game over and they'll start bickering again.

@emmapeel387 жыл бұрын
Score's the weakest member of the band - his voice only came out okay in studio, edited, clean-up to death. Live, he drowns the others out. Reynolds is an absolute guitar hero; the bass player is pretty damn good too. But Reynolds was off the charts good at the time, and 'I Ran' is one of the great guitar songs that people probably don't associate with being a guitar song - but it is.
@gmansi7 жыл бұрын

Agree on all counts, great post. Frank Maudsley got no credit as a bass player but probably should, he was always solid as a rock. And Paul Reynolds is simply fantastic, very original without ever being overly complicated. And your comment about this being a guitar song that people don't think of as a guitar song --- nailed it, spot on observation.

Mike still tours using the AFOS name, but it's just him and a backup band. Ali lives in America (North Carolina I think) and worked as a quality control manager at a plastics company (I heard he currently also plays in a local band in his area). Frank had a bed & breakfast in the south of France for awhile, but got bored with it after the VH1 Bands reunited thing in 2003 and moved back to Liverpool, where I believe he still lives. He also has a rare heart condition that was discovered around 2018 and he has a pacemaker. Paul still lives in Liverpool and apparently worked as a freelance musician (also heard he played in a jazz band at some point), but he suffered a stroke in early 2020 and he's still recovering from that (though I've heard recently that's he's been doing better, which I hope is true).
