A Flock Of Seagulls - Some Dreams (Official Video)

Returning with the first album of new material since 1995, A Flock of Seagulls present their brand new track 'Some Dreams'. The band led by Mike Score continue to innovate and inspire. 'Some Dreams' features their signature synth sounds blended perfectly with driving guitars and high energy rhythms. The single comes with 5 versions, the two extended versions strech and elongate the sounds in all the right places. A treat for those who love their classic 80s extended versions. Two instrumental versions are also included. The new Flock of Seagulls album is due in 2025. Thirty years in the making.
The main version of the track features on CD1 of the Orchestral 80's CD Album. You can also find an exclusive and limited 'Orchestral Exploration Version' of Some Dreams on CD3 of the Limited Edition box set. This is limited to 300 copies. Both available at www.augustday.net

History:
A Flock Of Seagulls may well be known for their bizarrely teased haircuts as much as their hit single "I Ran". A Flock Of Seagulls were one of prime movers in the 80's new wave era. Growing out of the synth-heavy and ruthlessly stylish new romantic movement. Hairdresser Mike Score (lead vocals, keyboards) formed A Flock Of Seagulls with his brother Ali (drums) and fellow hairdresser Frank Maudsley (bass) in 1980, adding guitarist Paul Reynolds several months later. Their eponymous debut album appeared in the spring of 1982. "I Ran (So Far Away)" was released as the first single from the album, and MTV quickly picked up on its icily attractive video, which featured long shots of Mike Score and his distinctive, cascading hair. The single climbed into the American Top Ten, taking the album along with it. In the UK, "I Ran" didn't make the Top 40, but "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" reached number ten later that year. Truly part of the fabric of the 80s their music and refernce have featured in TV shows such as Friends, The Wedding Singer, La La Land and many more.

@@VoyagerInTime We won't see another reunion of the original lineup. Frank & Paul both have health issues (Frank has a rare heart condition & Reno suffered a stroke in early 2020 & can no longer play), plus Ali & Mike do not get on well.

Sound isn't timebound, lots of musical artists still create this sound that began back in the 1980s. "The 80s" isn't a time, it's a vibe, and that vibe is still being created by artists now, even if it is not the top of charts songs. I was at a small venue, standing in the back watching the warm up band. Didn’t realize it until the guy next to me asked how I liked the show. It was Mike and we had a pleasant conversation. I was a teenager in the eighties and adored A Flock of Seagulls, this is brilliant!!!! can't wait for the new album they have many loyal fans. I was lucky to be at the concert in Leeds when live scenes for this video were recorded. Some Dreams was played twice during the set presumably so enough live footage was recorded to use in the video. It was an excellent concert and Frank Maudsley also made a guest appearance later on in the show.
