I am in a special Swiss regime of pills and injections ~ all my wrinkles are gone and developed more muscles an my hair is thicker and shinner plus doing these special stretches while listening to special ~ healing frequency and this song is in that frequency 😮😂🎉!

The grammy they won for this version was well deserved. It's an incredibly beautiful song and I cannot believe it's 40 years old. I was in middle school when their hit Wishing ( I had a photograph) made its way onto the USA's airwaves and I've thanked the band ( in my heart and soul) every single day since then. Those of us who were blessed to be at the age when music was becoming just as influential to who we'd become as the hormones that were kicking in. My 80s musical taste comprised of the iconic sounds of New Wave, Punk, New Romantic, and Death Rock which all became part of my DNA. I was good right up until the 2:45 mark. I've always liked classical string instrumentals, and combined with my fave FoS song, it was almost too much. Kids today can only hope their music ages as well as this does, but I doubt most of it will.

Everyone who lived through the decade knows that there were really two 80s: the early 80s, a time of expanding boundaries and exploring the unknown, and the late 80s, a time of increasing conformity and narrowing options. To me, this song is one of the anthems of the early 80s -- half science, half mystery, and all magic. It's good to have you still with us and making music, boys -- you helped define an era, and we'll never forget.
@rapid13
@rapid13 5 жыл бұрын
Meh. I was there, and the "narrowing options" were nothing more than the shift away from New Wave and toward Glam/Hair Metal, which gave us even greater and more diverse musicality that peaked with Appetite for Destruction and Dr Feelgood, which then got crushed by Nirvana. Music evolves, as do musical tastes.

He was at the back of the club and I walked up to him to meet him. Talked to me for 20 minutes straight like he knew me all of my life and even took pictures with my wife and I. Nicest guy ever. I never forgot that night. It left a lasting impression on me. Good to see the original members back together again.

The band is fantastic and I have to say the Prague Philharmonics is wonderful in complimenting the music without being overwhelming. I love all the faces of the orchestra-especially the pretty lady at the beginning who looks so serious, the puffed cheeks of the brass, to the grinning bearded man on the Strings. It is a wonderful orchestra to combine with the Flock of Seagulls. I hope there will be an Ascension concern with all the performers. It is just a beautiful ensemble.

This version is superb. And Yep Paul Reynolds is a legend not only as a person but a guitar player. He has a one of kind sound the things he can do with a guitar A+ talent

Patricia Richardson he's playing a three note triad = not hard . Uses a lot of delay = not hard

@@CAVERN1234 You obviously don't understand how talented Paul Reynolds is. Many Uber famous "guitar gods" were influenced by Reynolds guitar work. The guys talent is respected in the guitar world. He was a child prodigy back in the day. It isn't like his whole body of work is a three note triad with delay. And, going on 40 years later, that 3 note triad with delay is STILL being emulated by guys all over the place in garages and basements and other places. Kindly take your snarky comments elsewhere.

@@DaveMiller2 I sometimes wonder what would have been if Paul had not broken down. His body of work would have been much larger, I think he would have played a lot of sessions as well.
