Watching from Beaverlodge Alberta, Canada….enjoy all your videos…I hardly ever comment, but love to hear and see all the flower farmers take on Floret Zinnias etc….color on the bucket of zinnias are beautiful….made me think of sharing our WINDFALL FLOWER SEED FARM from Kamloops British Columbia Canada….she specializes in zinnias….her seeds sell out quickly in a couple of weeks…first time to order from her…excited to see what the seeds produce this summer….you have a beautiful country…thanks for sharing ..look forward to more videos, and more harvesting of flowers and bouquet making ….

Beautiful flowers. The floret zinnias are lovely. I can’t wait for mine to flower-near Sydney-I was late to finding them in Australia 🇦🇺. Hoping to get the floret dahlias when they are available next time too. My first time growing them along with Benary Giants, Queeny’s in a few colours, green envy and peaches and cream plus a mix of pastels that was given as a bonus on a dahlia tuber I bought. So far the peaches and cream purchased from Bunnings seeds have only given me pink singles, but they are the only thing flowering besides chillies. I only have a container garden on my west facing (very hot) balcony garden. They are overcrowded in their containers so I may have to pluck some out and make cuttings to replenish the containers. Hoping to save the floret seeds for next year. I predict I will probably have more singles because of the heat. I was never interested in them until Erin showed them-now I am obsessed with their beauty. I would love to try the new Johnny’s ballerina if and when someone will be selling them in Australia. I love the shades of pastel. Love your channel. New subscriber. 💐

Thankyou for the pricing information, it’s been a struggle to work out what to do with that here in my area. I use the land newspaper as a guide but I still struggle with that. We are heading into a 3 day heat wave with some ENE winds so Ive gone out today and used as much string as i had to weave backwards and forwards through my floret field crop to help give them some support from the upcoming wind and weather. Im hoping to have enough flowers again by the end of this week to do another bouquet bar and then possibly a market the following weekend that i have finally been given access to. Ive picked and packed 140 kilos of strawberries since our season started but the weather is just unbelievabley stupid right now. Yesterday i was in a cardigan in the field and freezing and then 4 days of mid to high 30’s….Its going to be tough few days for the flowers, strawberries and me :/

Ergh! That weather swing is crazy and the heat days on end is stressful. Sounds like you have been flat out. Hope the wind doesn’t knock everything over. I would like to do bouquet bars, although we are quite remote and not near a main road at all so it’s certainly not possible to have a roadside stand. Bouquet workshops could work here.

@@bloomsonthehill6207 our neighbour had offered for me to place our farm stand out at his front gate but I didn’t want to put stress on our relationship if he wasn’t happy with what I built. We are on our own private road which we have put in an application to name to make it easier for people to actually find us. If Im being totally honest the flowers aren’t selling really from the roadside stand, people are coming in to buy the fresh picked strawberries and I possibly sell maybe 2-3 $15 bouquets each week at the moment. Having the bouquet bar was great but the high winds that afternoon meant i had to do it in the kitchen of the tiny house so out of shear urgency I applied for another market and was approved but with this weather will probably only get to maybe one a month. Ive just had my pain medication and a coffee and just about to head out and start watering so that the gardens might make it through today. We had a massive lightening storm here last night and didn’t get a drop of rain, it just seems to go either side of us as it splits as it comes over the Clyde mountain :( I hope you are getting some rain there.

@@bloomsonthehill6207 it was truly a wonderful experience and I learned the what I should do next time and what I shouldn’t do lessons. I had 16 ladies in and only charged them $25 each that almost covered the cost of our water delivery. I wish we could’ve put in a bore but on such small acreage they aren’t going to let us do that. If you have the time I’d try a bouquet bar your flowers are spectacular xx

The flowers look quite pretty bunched up in the bucket and the pricing is good. I have a blood red dahlia that I love but seems I'm the only one. Our weather has been really good for the flowers and so far not too much wind. All of those self seeded dahlias I had, have been a smallish yellow or pinkish lot so out they came and went into the compost bin. Carnations are out too because they get drowned during springtime and don't recover well. I'm curious as to the name of the florist in Wonthaggi, as nothing seems to show up on Mr Google. 💐🏵💐

The florist is called Howard’s Flowers. She opens sometime in January. Glad to hear you have some dahlias, I actually harvested one today! Put it in a mixed bouquet that went to the bakery. It was one that snapped off a clump when I dug it up.

Interesting to see the different zinnia varieties.I bought the Golden Hour & Precious Metals. Your Dawn Creek pink ones are lovely. Could you show the peach ones too? My favourite red I grow is Benary Wine. Will you plant any more zinnia seeds now or is it too late in your climate? Enjoy your videos. Thanks

Hi, thanks for your comment. I love the Benary wine zinnias. Once my Dawn Creek Peach start flowers I will definitely show you. I have actually started another succession of zinnias, they are in trays right now.
