As a long time Vale user, I would recommend to change your skill to Flameshot instead of Sprint. Vale has the Windtalker passive that helps you speed up especially during end game, no one can catch you as long as you’ve stacked enough kills and assists (around 6 is decent). Early on, rotate and assist the core/assassin to build on the assists. In building items, I would suggest to go full offensive, go for power and penetration, no need for defense items unless you need Immortality. Great content and all the best.

The thing with playing in the PH server specially in the higher ranks is that the term "carry" doesn't exist anymore. Even if you're the best at the hero you are using globally, it means nothing if your teammates aren't as good or at least almost as good if not better than you. In the higher ranks nobody is good enough to carry the whole team by himself/herself, everyone in the team should be excellent players as well or you'll find it next to impossible to win a ranked game specially if you play solo during ranked matches.

Some tips to help you. When using 1 shot mages like vale, I don’t recommend building dominance ice (especially BLADE ARMOR) or any other defence items, with the exception of immortality. Remember to pay attention to the enemy’s lineup. If the enemy has lots of cc, choose purify as your battlespell. Also try to use vale’s first skill more efficiently in clearing the wave ( by going to the bush and line your skill up so that your first skill hits all the minions ) so that you have more time to rotate to other lanes to gank enemies or help your jungler in securing objectives. When your enemy lane counterpart is missing, signal the “enemy missing” in the chat or map to let your teammates know so that they can be more careful because they might be setting up an ambush. When you’re playing as a tank build Dominance ice for anti-heal and attack speed ( for heroes like: esmeralda, thamuz, attackspeed marksman ). And build blade armor for attackspeed marksman like miya and moskov. Summary: Try to clear waves faster Use your skills more efficiently Rotate more Check enemy line up and adjust your battlespell accordingly Map awareness And most importantly…. Dont. Build. Blade. Armor. On. Mages. (Also ph server is kindaaa “overrated”. There are good players but there are also very bad epic/legend/mythic 5-3 players that make you wanna swear because they play like they are in warrior rank. The real challenge is mythical glory ph server, thats where you will meet the insanely good players, below that and theres not much difference from the other servers.)

Mage main here(though i usually play any role adjusting for my team), that's not true that it is a must NO for mages to build domi and blade armor,full damage and pene build cannot fully 1 shot any tank with full defense build,so using a hit and run hero u must also have to have atleast 2 defense items specially for vale when at full stack of his passive where u can sell his shoes to allot another item,U have to remember that 2 right damage items already can 1 shot soft heroes at even at early game,also having 3 accounts where 2 of my accounts are for solo queue and 1 always with my squad, i can say u don't understand how stressful it is to play on PH server starting from higher epic at the end and start of season till even at lower mythic if u don't play here(i can say it because I used to use VPNs before till these past few months to enter different servers for events offered on their server).

00:30, mages don't freeze mid. They clear it fast so they could be anywhere. Such as assisting jungler in taking buff if enemy invades, helping jungler invade, ganking gold or exp lane. Think of mid as secondary roamer. You're roaming but you have the responsibility of making sure mid isn't pushed.

Against a Selena and Helcurt combo I would use : 1. Tough Boots 2. Purify as battle spell * not a perfect solution as Purify has a cooldown. Even as a marksman I use tough boots if enemy team has so much cc. It's up to you, unless you have a Diggie on your team, his ult removes cc. * Vale's passive exponentially increases his movement speed as he levels up. If you master this you could get away with not using Sprint ( which I heard was nerfed ? Adjusted ? I need to check).

When playing vale and when its in the late game, passive is full stack, i replace my boots with blood wings or immortality. Maybe winter truncheon too. He is extremely fast in the late game and it will help you dodge the enemies skills.

Just to share some thoughts about his game. If It was me. I will build first the clock of destiny first so I can benefit from its full stack in the mid game. Also looking at the enemy team is hard to choose if what defense is better since they have both the burst of physical damage and magic damage. In these cases I prefer choosing brute force since it increases both physical and magic defense.

Thing about this is, you’ll see players who are legitimately good at the game even in lower ranks due to the bad players screwing up objectives, and bad players even in higher ranks cuz they just prioritize killing everything and are just lucky enough to have allies who can clean up the rest. There’s as many headless chickens as there are godlike carries so the server’s kinda overrated purely for the top ceiling being higher than average, but the really low bar on the lower end balances it out. Not every good player can carry a team that spends the whole game ignoring turtle, lord and turrets. And not every bad player is gonna actually lose cuz of how matchmaking works. The better you perform, the more likely you are to be paired with people who perform on a lower level regardless of how much you climb the ranks. Really makes you just a little bit irritated when you’re in like legend or mythic and still meet players who do nothing but steal minions and kills the whole time and then call the rest of the team useless.
