A Forgotten Fairy Tale | The Princess and the Goblin

I felt like I was a little harsh on the movie while editing. The animators were able to mimic camera work really well. But some scenes definitely aged more gracefully than others. What are your guys' experience with this movie? Have you rewatched it recently? Anyone read the books like I did?

I actually watch this earlier this year with my older sister she remembered it from her childhood and wanted to show it to me it was a really nice experience and I'm happy I was able to have it with her

If we're gonna talk about a Hungarian animated film, I recently watched "Son of the White Horse." The story was a bit simplistic (kinda like an extended fairy tale episode for tv) and the animation was at times difficult to look at, but I enjoyed it; it gave me nostalgia when I've never seen it in my life.

I saw an episode of Mona the vampire based on this fairy tale but never saw the movie. He looks good especially the animation and backgrounds. I should watch it someday 🙂

The Princess and the Goblin was one of the books my mom would read to me before bed. It's been years and I've never seen the movie, but I'm surprised how accurate the movie seems to be to the book? Like I know they moved some events around, and took some details out, or added others. I'm pretty sure Ireen the elder wasn't ever stated to be a ghost, or did anything too magical, everything she did felt more out of a dream then like a spell. But other then that, from what I could see it seems like a watered-down faithful adaption. Neat.

I remeber my grandma had this movie on a vhs tape and watched it almost weekly when I was 5 It was dubbed in Finnish but I can't really remember how good (or bad) the dub was xD It was entertaining and I always hoped I'd find a secret door in my own house Too bad she got rid all off the vhs tapes I'd would have loved to save few of them I remember she also had a low budget mini movies of Rapunzel and Thumbelina, I can't remember if they were made by the same people but they had similar artstyles
