A-Frame Cabin Build - FLOORING AND FRAMING with home-sawn lumber

Building with home-sawn lumber is something that feels like a privilege. This wood is absolutely beautiful. However, there are many more "quirks" in the building process that we are adjusting to as we build. The A-frame cabin is coming along nicely. We have also decided to add 2 foot walls to the build as that will give us a huge boost in space. This tiny cabin is going to be absolutely beautiful!
I camp and hike in and around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I'm also building and enjoying an off- grid cabin in the woods with my partner Cory and the kiddos Nora and Ethan! I love sharing the journey with you!

I like the idea of it being sleeping quarters but it can be multi-purpose. Furniture can always be taken out/moved around.

I built an 8x12 A Frame on my mountain property to use instead of setting up my hot tent every time. It is kind of small by cabin standards but it beats setting up my tent in the dark. I thought of using knee walls but I had enough lumber for the A Frame and didn’t really want to leave to go get more. No regrets but I can possibly see another build in the future.
