Thank you to Robert and Heather for cementing these iconic roles in my mind. Unlike most people I hear, I thought of the 80’s as an unpleasant time. I grew up in the Bronx, Ny and although back then it seemed fun, It wasn’t ideal for kids. Besides playing in the garbage lots, one thing that brought us together were the movies. Everyone watched Freddy, everyone wanted the Freddy glove and hat for Halloween. We would all huddle in front of the VCR and be really afraid, sitting there watching and smelling the movie. For those who don’t know, when a VCR is playing for a while the videotape gets hot, and there’s a smell associated with the warming equipment. It was just all part of the experience. I still want it to hold up to movies today, but, Robert is right, some of the things back then are tame compared to things now.

Do a prequel... but, make it a series that builds towards that eventual burning as the apparent climax. But then at the end of the burning episode have him already stalking some of the kids. No need to show the nightmares themselves, so no chance of 'NOES Remake' mistakes (no one can really replace that amazing man). But, just have scenes at the school were the principal announces tragic news of some of the students dying in an event like they went camping and died in a fire that got out of hand while they slept, etc. And, make it the kids of some of the most vocal parents at the trial. Of course, finish up with a scene at the funeral. Something like that I would think would be fitting.
@markbell198224 күн бұрын
She thinks someone 8 years old would be fine watching it? They are trying to be humble. It doesn't matter what new stuff is coming out now. A Nightmare On Elm Street (the first one) is the most terrifying movie I've ever seen, purely by premise. You can't get away. You can't flee to another continent (even if you're an astronaut, you can't flee to space) like you might be able to when it comes to those masked boys. You simply can't stay awake, and when you fall asleep, you're in a world that he controls. And as many people have pointed out, the score is incredibly creepy too.

Earlier this year (At a DAYS OF THE DEAD, LV & HorrorConLA) I told Miko Hughes about how Robert Englund couldn't do a sequel, so maybe the best thing they could do for another Nightmare on Elm Street film was a full-on Prequel. They'd probably have to get all footage about what happened before-hand from everything including Freddy's Nightmares, put it ALL in the right order, and fill in what MAY have happened in between. I mentioned Robert Englund should be part of the CASTING process to see which Actor he could pass the torch to (it'd have to be someone younger than him, when he 1st started). I also recommended Mark Swift & Damien Shannon to write it and to just call the prequel...FREDDY KRUEGER.
