A frosty day hike onto High Rigg & Tewit Tarn sunset in The Lake District National Park

A 4.7 mile hike in icy conditions onto High Pike from Tewit Tarn and Low Rigg.
Lay-by parking NY 30587 23945 for 2 cars only.
The route heads along a public footpath to Tewit Tarn , a lovely spot for sunrise and sunset with Blencathra as a backdrop. The route follows across open access land around Low Rigg to St.John's Church. The track heads up Higg Rigg on an easy grassy trod onto Summit 357m
High Rigg (Naddle Fell) Marilyn, Hump, Tump (300-399m), Wainwright, Birkett,
Synge, Fellranger, Clem
(Ma,Hu,Tu,3,W,B,Sy,Fel,Cm)
The route heads across to Shawbank Crags with a fantastic view up Naddle Valley and down to Thirlmere.
I return my route back to Tewit Tarn for sunset with lovely icy colours of the setting sun.

A lovely walk. We started from the Church and had a great day out across the fells. Tewet Tarn is a fantastic location for photography and views across to the Skiddaw range. Keep em coming.

This just goes to show you don't need to walk the highest peaks to get terrific views Tracey 😊 the view from.the iced up Tarn towards Blencathra & The North Western Fells was beautiful 😍 👌 Billy Bob 🐶🐕carrying the stick was a picture in itself 😊😊❤ Nice church at St John's In The Vale.not had many days like that asi its been atlantic weather with lots of rain/wind/clouds but temperatures have been very good 👍 great walk with you & Billy Bob 🐶🐕Now did you have a nice Christmas Tracey 🤔🤔

@davidmarshall5596 she is really happy in her new home 🏡 so that's a blessing. Andrew visits every other day and I try to see her once a week. She is always so positive. I'm a glutton for Quality street haha its the coconut and fudge I like 👍

Hi Tracey What wonderful weather you managed to get, and of course as usual the place pretty much to yourself. Also of course fantastic colours withthat low sun. Was that a little figure someone had made on top of the cairn at High Rigg? Don't suppose the tarns are frozen at the moment with the arrival of storm Gerrit, got any plans to hit the hills in the next few days? I did spot map, scissor and washing machine this time round 😂😅, our Bosch makes exactly that noise. Thanks again for taking us with you, I've enjoyed the 2023 walks and look forward to more in 24. Hi Gary thanks for visiting my channel...I use Gopro 11 , and film in 4K , I use the volta stick which keeps the battery charged all day. Hope this helps. I tried a gimble for my mobile but I had lots of issues with that. I edit my videos on my.mobile phone as it has alot of storage and use the powerdirector app to edit the videos
