I definitely noticed the lack of sauce here in Spain. We went to a "Freiduria" in Puerto and got a few different fried fishes, but not a single one came with any sort of dip or sauce. I find eating fish just plain with no sauce to be strange I fell in love with "tortillitas de camaron" though! If you can get past the texture they are really good

What does your husband do in the Navy? One must learn that only 3% of Americans are vegan. Been to Rota many times. Use to go the bakery for early breakfast.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! Are coffee shops/bakeries open early in Rota? Also, when do Spaniards generally have siesta and then when is a good time to go to restaurants for dinner? We are pcsing next month. 😊

Bakeries do open as early as 7am. Siesta is really a very broad term. Typically it should be from 2-4 pm, but lots of business close earlier than that and stay closed much later too. You’ll definitely notice it between noon up to about 8pm in some cases. A lot of restaurants don’t open until 8pm for dinner, but some you’ll find open around 6pm. The opening times also vary depending on the season. In the summer lots of business are open longer, than the winter. Others even close altogether during colder months. Save travels over here😊

Uh that's not true... girl I'm vegan now but my town has the best Spanish food in all of adulucia. Your giving false statement to people.

That’s why I said that we PERSONALLY don’t like Spanish food. I’m only making statements from my perspective, that have been true from our experience. We’ve travelled all over Spain: from Rota, to Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastián, Santiago de Compostela, Cádiz, Cordoba, Malaga, Granada, Valencia, Seville, and lots of little towns in between. I also hiked El Camino de Santiago. If you enjoy the food in Rota then that’s great and true for you! Everyone has different taste.
