I also grew up watching Sailor Moon on YTV back in the 90’s and I remembered going to school with pigtails. I’ve always loved Sailor Moon ever since I was a little girl growing up in Canada and I had very fond memories of imagining myself pretending to transform into Sailor Moon yelling Moon Prism Power and doing my Moon Tiara Magic. Ah, those were the fricken days!! 😊

Sailor moon was the first anime I saw when I was young and that was the first spark of me learning more and more about japan and loving everything about it. Anything Japanese just makes me feel safe and at home and very proper.

I think a lot of us from that era this was our first exposure to Japanese culture! I didn't know until I was much older that this was "anime" and came from Japan. I just thought it was "a cool cartoon" when I was growing up, haha.

this is sooooo COOL! as for my favorite sailor scout......thats hard to choose....I have always loved sailor moon. I also really love sailor mar, sailor mercury, sailor pluto, and sailor saturn. I know that's a lot of favorites but they were the characters i gravitated too watching this show as a kid. i remember going to block buster to find the sailor moon movies that were released at the time. i hope i can see this exhibition in person one day.

Yes! Stephanie "Sugar" Beard, who was a VJ on YTV and a radio DJ in Ontario, was the second English voice for Chibiusa/Rini in the DiC/Pioneer/Cloverway dub, since most of the voices were replaced at least once. Tracey Hoyt was the first Rini, and of course Sandy Fox is the current Chibiusa in Viz's truer-to-the-text dub.

This is childhood heaven! The life-sized weapons, the costumes, not to mention the original artworks and the merchandise! The sparkle, the grace, the beauty, the nostalgia! It's Sailor Moon heaven! I would give anything to go to this museum and soak everything in Sailors Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are my girls - always will be >w< I did not have a Sailor Moon wand, but it gave birth to my obsession with wand toys, I was always begging my parents for a wand toy. And I did have a Sailor Moon costume when I was 6-7 years old. I remember I wanted to wear it to visit my aunt, even asked my mom to tie pigtails into my hair. I used to be very upset as a child that my hair was not as long as Usagi's lol > I wish I could've seen the tour too, I dunno what year they toured but it would've been amazing to see. My closes exposure to live action Sailor Moon was the live action series that aired in 2006 I believe, and I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

I see two toys that I had as a kid! 😢 I have no recollection of whether or not I got them in the US or if my uncle got them for me while in Japan, though. I had one of the moon rods. It lit up and made sounds when you pressed buttons. I distinctly remember the day I got it lol. I also still have a Luna P makeup mirror case thing. It’s broken and mangled but I will carry it with me for my whole life lol
