I was at this video shoot. My father was friends with a band member (R.I.P. Kevin Falvey) and arranged to meet Joe prior to the shoot in a private setting. He signed a promo photo for me. Was very polite to me and appreciated my interest in what I would see later at the video shoot. Very sweet man. Got to tour around the room and check all the instruments out. There was a track that went around the entire band that the cameraman rode on to get the footage. It was an amazing day with my father and the legend himself, Mr. Cocker. You need listen to Joe Cocker walk into a bar late at night and rattle the dust and floorboards as he absolutely smokes the place with his rendition of the Ray Charles classic, UNCHAIN MY HEART. He brings soul, grit and just enough gospel to call it home, before leaving the dust to settle in his tracks as he leaves. And his sideman isn't half bad either. And if want to get back to his roots, FEELIN' ALRIGHT and THE LETTER are great numbers.
