"Geography (from Greek γεωγραφία, geographia, literally "earth description"[1]) is a field of science devoted to the study of the lands, the features, the inhabitants, and the phenomena of Earth.[2] " - Wikipedia. Boze was technically correct with people. I think you guys are thinking of Geology which is the study of the Earth, soil, and land formations and changes, and does not include people. They're pretty similar words so they generally get confused for one another.

Boze is like 100% right on the whole geography thing because coincidently I'm in college and I had my second geography class literally this morning and the first thing we started to learn about was demographics and people, though geography is abould the land, plays a huge part because people and the culture and practices of people affect and are affected by geography through migration and what we use from the land and a whole bunch of reasons. Looking into geography better than a middle/highschool class that teaches you latitude/longitude and waht tectonic plates are is essential.

Boze is correct about geography. The term translates to "the study of the earth", and those studies include, but are not limited to, studying human culture, since humans primarily inhabit its surface. Geography has several studies within it to make it whole: cartography, physics, sociology, chemistry, humanities, etc. So yeah.

The five themes of geography are... Location - Tells you exactly where you are on earth Ex. The equator Place - Human and physical traits of a location Ex. Very hot climate, most people speak Spanish, snow-capped mountains Human- Environment interaction - How people effect and are effected by their natural surroundings Ex. Recycling, Hurricane Ike Movement - Transporting of ideas, people or goods (merchandise) Ex. Visit France with your family, call a friend, ship apples to Japan Region - An area the has common characteristics Ex. Amazon rain forest, Arctic, Downtown L.A., Sahara desert Straight from my seventh grade social studies notebook XD

Boze's answer with 'People' was completely right! in Geography, yes you learn about places and landscape formations, but it's mostly climates, people, cultures, things that make that area unique to others. Geology talks more about the planet itself, how things were made, different eras in time, rock cycles, water cycles, weathering and erosion. Boze's answer was the closest one to Geography out of the three of them, the others would have fit better with Geology.
