The GUATEMALA TRAVEL VLOG series continues with SAN MARTIN; a true GEM in GUATEMALA. This popular restaurant is all over Guatemala City and Guatemala. They stand out because of the great aesthetics, awesome service and affordable and amazing food. They are a restaurant and bakery in one, so you can dine for breakfast lunch or dinner, or you can purchase pastries, cakes and breads. San Martin is definitely a must when visiting Guatemala/Guatemala City so here's a fun little travel vlog with my experience at two different San Martin locations (Zone 10 and Zone 15,), in Guatemala City.

I'm a Gem... I'm considering going on a one way ticket from San Jose, Costa Rica. I've been in San Jose along with other cities via car rental 2x for 2 months. I especially enjoyed the Carribean side compared to the Pacific Ocean side of the country. Overall it's a good place to visit. I was thinking Guatemala City or somewhere in Mexico that had slightly lower cost of living than San Jose. 35$ per night AirBnb is certainly better than 45-80USD. Food is hella expensive here. It's hard to understand how Costa Ricans survive. Many choose to drive Uber because they can make more driving for 10 hours than they can at a manufacturing plant. Ubers are super cheap. It's very easy to spend 20 USD to 30 USD on a nice meal here. Or street food will run you 8-12 USD. Hence the reason to move cities for awhile. If I go to Guatemala City than I have the freedom to go to La Playa Del Carment for 5-6 days. I wish I spoke Spanish, as I can only speak intermediate Mandarin and clearly I'm no longer in Asia.

Is San Martin a typical local reataurant? I looked it up. There seem to be a lot of them there. Seems like a nice vibe.

You’re right, there are a lot of them all over Guatemala City and even in Antigua. I’m not sure if it’s a “typical” restaurant per se, but they definitely offer typical Guatemalan cuisine as part of their menu options

Unfurtunatly nobody mentions zone 2, where few aertdeco houses are and the relif map is, which is a gem to the city, close together is avenida Simeon Cañas, Esquilandia park and the baseball park is.
