Hey coach you are exactly 110% correct!!! Jerome Henderson is a decent DBs coach and should've not been fired because it's all Shane Bowens fault all the way! I knew he was the wrong guy to call GIANTS defense that for the most part was always our calling card and we were feared for throughout our history for. Shane Bowen is too soft philosophy for big blue. We need a good blitzing coverage wiz

I assumed that Schoen’s team building philosophy was to not spend 15 million or more for any player in the secondary..3-7 million is ok but not 15. I think this also bears out when you look at the Bills secondary. Perhaps it’s easier to just draft decent safeties ?? I recall he offered Love almost 7 million to stay and then Love took an offer for less and went to Seattle… so Love left because he turned down the Giants 1st offer and after he tested the market and got as offered less … the Giants offer was off the table. But the Giants did make him a solid offer to stay. James Bradbury was a Cap casualty in year one... So the only person Schoen let go by via not matching or bettering GB offer was #29 McKinney who signed for 18 million per year! (And I am happy for him he got his money)

Bradberry was a cap casualty because they wanted him to be. They could have extended him to provide cap relief but they did not want him to. Then they held him hostage until the free agency market dried up thinking that could bully him into a pay cut. Love was offered a deal but we do not know any of the details and structure of the deal. He left for Seattle because they made him an offer he was comfortable with. X was not offered a legit contract for someone of his talents. If you will not resign your own talent then what is the use? My point is still valid. How is any of that the fault of the defensive backs coach.

See I have to disagree with you because Johnson and Henderson had flaws in their coaching that leads to where we are. I am not disagreeing that taking veterans and replacing them with draft picks makes the job much harder. However as position coaches they are more about fixing flaws and teaching than installing schemes. Correct me if I am wrong on that but that was always my experience. All of the DBs seemed to regress or not develop coverage skills. Pass completion ratings and pass defense numbers were horrid. And yes that even includes the darlings of this year's draft in Nubin and Phillips. Both were good at limiting the yac but I think Phillips had like an 80% completed passes against. Not what I call stellar play. Now granted I am not a professional coach but to me DBs need to worry more about playing the ball then big hits and run defense (yes I know run defense is still part of it but at times these guys looked like they were being used more as undersized linebackers then DBs) But looking at the film, Holmes, Belton, Love, and any non vet DB never seemed to develop passed their College skills in coverage, which is why I don't see nearly the value in Henderson others do. You brought up Neal and yes his physicals on right side speed is why he should be a guard rather then a tackle but the one thing that changed this year is he didn't seem lost on stunts, neither did Kubas, which under Johnson seemed to be the Giants kryponite. So Bricillo found some way to get that into guys who for years Johnson could not. Frankly I think they should do the same with Tierney if all the Davis Webb talk is correct that he was better at getting the QBs to understand things. Some coaches are better with vets and fine tuning while some are better at traching. This feels like more teaching and less tuning is needed in the Giants current state.

A lot to digest here. I'll say this. Love changed positions in the NFL that's difficult to do. They said he struggled with tackling and by the time he finished he had almodt 150 tackles. Belton was essentially a linebscker coming out he's now a viable depth piece at safety. Xay improved and was one of the best ball hawks. Banks and Flott went from man to man scemes to combo zone schemes. People are calling Dru one of the best in the game. All of this under one man's watch. Kubas is a rookie. Neal did not get better with stunts the guard next to him did.

Hello Coach Clemons I feel they got rid of Coach Henderson because he's been there for more years then Sheon and Daboll. If their fired Henderson maybe considered fit Giants Head Coach. No Black HC or QB's it's never a right reason or time. Imo Mara Giants code racist Sneaky wit it My slightly flawed favorite Gm is Jerry Reese Won 2 SUPERBOWLS never a word about him except it was Ernie Accorsi team well he hand picked J. Reese, before retiring 🎉Gettlemen sabotage Reese's 1st draft, then left for Carolina feeling salty he wasn't picked by Accorsi. Gettlemen in Carolina trash 🗑 Reese sabotage again gets fired. Wink is coaching HC in college ball … but I’m not sure he was worth the squeeze … once he was let go, lots of negative stories stopped leaking to the press via Pat Leonard. He came off as someone who was very political and was willing to try to get Daboll fired in order to get a HC shot here. In the end a recommendation from Wink is not a good thing in my book. (This is all reading tea leaves and connecting dots … I have hear nothing from the Giants ) Remember, the ravens let him go… then the Giants let him go … and no Pro team offered him a HC or DC position. Where there is smoke there is usually fire 🔥 Let’s see where he winds up and if Wink takes him. If Wink does not then perhaps he was just politically aligned with Wink.

@@jmazzella1 Wink was not fired with NY, he quit. He left Baltimore with one of the best defenses in the NFL. He was interviewed for head coaching Jobs the year before and he is currently being interviewed for DC jobs. He went to be the DC for the National Championship squad. He has done a fantastic job despite Michigan not having any offense at all. As for the leaking information. That happens in every organization. Almost every coach is talking to someone.
