A Giant NM Bull in Donnie’s Lap - Episode 2 (Destination Elk V6)

Hiking out after dark on Day 2, Corey and Donnie find the motherload of elk, and the next morning they hike over into a deep canyon hoping to get in front of the main herd as it makes its way up the mountain. It doesn’t take long, and Corey has a giant bull heading into their setup.
But the big bull needs to hurry if he wants to beat the rest of the herd - and the multiple bulls that are bugling in the herd - to the sweet cow calls he’s hearing…

Personally I think it's kinda neat to see how you guys keep at it and figure out what the Elk are doing and are adaptive. Of course that's normal but going from public to private and not knowing how they act it's just slightly different. Pretty neat. Loving the videos so far!

Sept.4th my birthday. I was hoping you would get one. At least you found some late. My 1st Elk Hunt was in New Mexico. Unit 16e was what I drew. My hunting partner drew a Mule deer tag. Came close to getting one but didn't work out. Had a blast. We were Hooked. Never got an elk but made some great memories. 75 now with parkinson's no more elk hunting but great Memories'. While working as smokejumpers in McCall, Idaho, we always got Spam in our food boxes when parachuting into remote forest fires. We'd use sheets of aluminum foil over a campfire to cook it. Sliced thin and sprinkled with canned pineapple (also from our food boxes). The stuff crisps right up. Nice and greasy, sweet and sour! Now I just eat elk all year. Maybe I'll get a can of Spam for this year's hunt. Inspired by good ol' Donnie.
