This movie is based on Robert Durst. In 2021, Robert was finally charged with the murder of his wife, Kathleen, almost 40 years after she disappeared. He was already serving a life sentence (that was recently handed to him) for the 2000 murder of his friend, Susan Berman. In this film, the character of Deborah at 3:11 is based on Susan. Robert had A LOT of secrets. Unfortunately, he didn’t spend much time paying for his crimes. He died in prison in January 2022, just months after being given a life sentence.

Yeah his attorney was my criminal defense professor and he is scary good at his job. It’s unsettling. He went over the case with us and you’d have to snap out of his bs sometimes and get back to the facts.

Ok so what was katie dragging to the river in trash bags??? Why didnt they search the river when katie disappeared. Why wasnt he found guilty for obstruction? And a slew of other charges??? Personally i think katie found his woman clothes and knew he was a cross dresser. That him in a wig was who people thought was katie the day after she disappeared. And she wound up in that river attempting to throw davids lady clothes away. And that david is transgendered. Not a crossdresser. Just my two cents.

It makes me wonder if that was Katie at all. Just because it was early in the movie before the cross dressing part comes to light we assumed it was her but it could’ve been a foreshadowing of him dressed as a woman dumping her. Also this is a recap so we don’t see every part of the movie so I’ve noticed after seeing a recap then the movie that points are missing that would’ve given context sometimes. I still watch recaps though lol!

I also think the people who saw a “woman” at the end was truly seeing the husband not her hence why they didn’t show the face. But he met his match with the old neighbor trying to manipulate him into doing his dirty work! He should’ve gotten at least an obstruction or tampering with evidence since he didn’t report right away
