With all of the talk about mob votes n such, talking about the different directions minecraft could've taken is an interesting conversation to have. I personally think adding the aether even after all of this time would be really cool, especially since the guy who made the first aether mod actually works for mojang now (idk if he still does actually i just know he used to)

He actually does, and is one of the main developers for the warden stuff. He also voted crab. But yeah! I'd love to see a new dimension officially make it in, we'll see tomorrow if anything even 10% as big as that is announced.

What an amazingly underrated video! The Better Than Adventure is amazing to me. I'm obsessed with it, having started a whole series on it. I like to joke that I'm stuck in 2011/2012, thanks to my video style and content.

I actually thought about that one! But when I played it, I just found it would deter from the video given I already had a beta and alpha mod. I wanted to focus a little on mods that weren't just based on old stuff. I think there IS a clip in the part where I go through all the dimensions that is ReIndev too

Man the editing here is insane, great job This video did make me think of EVERYTHING that could have went RIGHT with minecraft. Some new dimensions would be cool, but the end is something you visit once and never again, nether is something you get netherite in and then never touch it again, some dimensions that would not be obsolete would be nice.

Yeah, I spend a lot of time editing stuff sometimes LOL. I think the craziest part is how the old alt dimesions actually respected minecraft's core gameplay loop because you couldn't farm as many things automatically, they are basically different games! Final horizons stream should be on Tuesday, if nothing wrong happens.

@@SmashedTomatoes Tbh i would kill for a sky dimension, maybe like to get there you have to build something which will send you so high up you can land safely? It would be really cool, maybe it would be after you kill the ender dragon so its more rewarding to beat it. I would also love more bosses that do special attacks, unlike the elder guardian. The only thing unique about him is that he can make you... mine... slower? How would making you mine slower make the boss harder? Anyway, i would love new dimensions and unique boss fights. Btw, the armadillo WONNNN im so glad i voted for the armadillo Btw i will try to join the stream, if i dont, i might just be busy or asleep

I wish they fully bit the bullet and took it towards a more appropriate direction, but I understand they don't want to lose that feeling of Minecraft. If you want to see R E A L survival P A I N i recommend Better Than Wolves.. i've spent a few hours on it and i've not gotten a crafting table yet... Also as a BTA player, BTA is simply amazing.

It's "rediscovered" by modinglegacy, pretty sure it's a team. Honestly, BTA would be my shit with b1.8 food mechanics, but I'm sure many people play BTA specifically because they don't like that mechanic.

BTA is great IMO, I personally don't mind hunger and I prefer not sprinting (in modern mc it feels like you can run away from EVERYTHING), though if you like sprinting you can turn it on using a Game rule command (allowSprinting). You can also stack (a decent amount) of food in your inv now!

Huh? This is terrafirmacraft, it's own mod for Minecraft that shares many similarities with vintage story, a game that began as a mod for Minecraft called "vintage craft" which aimed to be a less annoying version of terrafirmacraft. The vintage mod, released 2015, is directly based on TFC, because the creators of the mod found the limitations of a Minecraft mod too restrictive, they just pivoted to a whole standalone game. TFC was first released in 2013. So yeah, no credit because it isn't needed X3

I felt like that version was too much of a mod, didn't really align with keeping the vanilla feel lake the old one, that is so simple I could actually see happening. In some other parallel timeline of course.

@@SmashedTomatoes i guess the texture update it had does make it feel different, but that's why the aether team decided to include it in the mod, besides, the new port is the exact same thing from the ground up, the team focused a lot on making it as close as possible to the original

@@SmashedTomatoes I assume you're thinking of Aether II, the 1.20 version is the original mod just updated to new versions with a bunch of balance patches and vanilla parity features, not the same thing as Aether II, which unfortunately diverted far away from the vanilla feel

no, sprinting is terrible for balance, all of the base mobs were designed for a player who doesn't sprint, and the new hunger system is annoying

Annoying Hunger system >>> annoying walking speed. It depends a lot on the player, but I think most players have more fun running and eating than having cluttered inventories and taking 5 hours to walk across a biome... Not that the cluttered inventories didn't come back and worse in newer versions X3
