Love your ‘can do’ and realistic attitude to life, lack of self pity, and great basic humour; saying it as it is. Fact is there are times when life can be a bitch, when we all need to be brave, - and you, Lady, are an inspiration and example to us all, - and especially other women! Big Respects xx

Hi Peri, just found your channel today and absolutely love your outlook. I'm coming towards the end of my 50's and am currently in the middle of breast cancer treatment - I've had surgery to remove the lump and am now waiting for that to heal up before starting radiotherapy. I also had a radical hysterectomy for endometrial cancer 7 years ago so this is my second go round! Once it's done, it's done and you have to get up and carry on with life - it's too short not to. Incidentally, my mum was killed by a hospital drug error, she was only in for a minor issue. I was a nurse for 30 years, so have met many doctors in my time. Some are good, but some leave me with little faith, and I certainly dont think they are gods at all. Love from Cornwall ❤

@@SueJonesCreations hi Sue, thanks for sharing with me what you’re going through. I do hope once you’ve had your treatment you’ll be given the all clear. And sorry to hear about your Mum. Seems we have similarities in our lives. Oh and you’re from Cornwall - I’m so looking forward to my camping trip around Devon & Cornwall in a few weeks time. I have very close family who live in Devon and am quite familiar with the area. Beautiful part of the country. Stay well and good luck with everything 🌸🌷🌸☘️☘️☘️ oh and thank you so much for watching and subscribing!

@Peri-mylifeinateacup Thanks for your reply and good wishes, I do feel very fortunate to live here (back where I grew up). I hope you have a brilliant time in Tilly - we're in South East Corwall, so might see you in passing!! I know the Bristol area pretty well, too, as that's where I did my nurse training back in the day! 😀

I am shocked that our Peri has not redecorated that garden shed to within an inch of its life! 😹 I love seeing your allotment. Losing our mums is devastating under any circumstance, I would have said the same thing to that quack. I am in awe of her starting over in her seventies! Woot woot! Mine is gone as well after a long illness and I miss her. You are an amazing woman, thank you for caring about us and encouraging us to see about ourselves. Your vulnerability is appreciated.

Thank you for being so open and honest about it all, and sharing your experience. I had my ovaries removed because they almost accidentally found pre-cancerous cells, when I was being tested for something else, and I was considered high risk because my mum had ovarian cancer. But that wouldn't have been found if I hadn't initially pushed for the blood tests when I was unwell with something else. I think you do have to push for things these days, although I do have a great GP. It's brilliant that all this lead to you buying your boat, and then doing your car camping - that's where I found you, doing your Scottish trip and posting on Facebook. I thought you were an inspiration before, but I do even more now you've shared this!

Wow, Peri! Congratulations on being a survivor. It's true though that so many people go undiagnosed or they think that a doctor is like God. They aren't, they make mistakes or sometimes just don't know. Thankfully, treatments these days are much improved and many more are recovering. What an inspiration you are and may you enjoy a gzillion more adventures. Lots of love 💕🦋 xx
