Yikes on the “dry”closing! This is classic - “ the check is in the mail”. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard for a major transaction. I’m glad you had an attorney handling this for you so he/she can be liable if something goes wrong. Also it should be a certified/bank check so no chance of bouncing. I’m sure it will be ok - most people are good - but yikes.

I’m 74 and I sold my home 4 years ago to move into an apartment building for seniors. I got tired of trying to keep up the repairs and dodging shady repair people thinking that because I was a recent widow of a man that had worked at a good job that I had inherited big time. I’m loving my life without all those responsibilities. Margaret, if you see a spike in viewership of your older videos….it’s me. I’ve been binge watching at night, to the point I’m afraid I’ll wake my neighbors when I get the laugh out loud giggles. So glad I found you and your Facebook page. Spring has arrived in Northern IL. 70 degree temps, robins and Red-winged blackbirds have arrived. Life is good

Hello Margaret, lovely to watch you and follow all your life how it has changed so much in a small period of time. You are pretty amazing I just have to say! You are keeping me busy watching all you accomplish. as far as the baby car seat issue, I would just wait till she gets a little older to drive her and the car seat will be facing as you can see her when you turn around. I would feel kind of weird about the baby in the backseat like that too, but I know a lot of modern parents have little things they could look at on the back of the seat, but I don’t know how they attach it. Stay safe on those new roads.

My husband is 81 and I’m 68. We have a one and a half story so all 3 bedrooms are upstairs. I’m so glad we have a laundry shoot. For taking the clothes up we use those extra large shopping bags. I toss the unfolded laundry on the couch and I have two shopping bags and fold and sort our clothes. It makes it easier to go upstairs. Put the bag on each stair as we go up. They sell some on Amazon with zippers so you can toss down the stairs. When you don’t need them anymore you can use them for grocery shopping.

It's good to see you Margaret! I laughed when you were talking about finding projects at the new place. You put me to shame. When I watch our little ones, I run out of steam and can barely keep up with the necessities of life. I think it makes sense to let the architect know what's most important to you. We did that with our remodel and it was kinda funny. I told her that I wanted lots of light and I wanted the inside to flow into the back wooded area. Kind of strange, but she did such a good job. I also understand Nikki's perspective--but I'm old and always in a hurry and I figured I didn't have time for lots of revisions, lol!

So good to see you pop on Margaret. You can unscrew your shower head from the wand and take out the rubber ring and screen( which is a water saver) and your water pressure will be stronger. I have the same hot water pot you use for your tea. We put the tea bags in the cups and pour the hot water over it. I am not sure, but I think the tea may ruin the pot. I use the pot anytime I need hot water, as I use the filtered water from the refridgerator.

For your laundry, a trash bag will work to throw it down the stairs before you walk down. Or Ikea Frakta bags work well for that and they'll hold up forever.

I now live in the middle of no where rural. We have to haul our can to road and the mailbox is across the road. They are trying to get an Uber type set up for recycling. Right now if you want to recycle you drive about 30 min to a city that has a center.

I don't like those backwards carseats either. The mirrors are a necessity though, which you figure out the first time the kid sounds like she's choking. 😳 Now my own kids...well when my daughter was 9 months old (1973) we drove from California to Denver, over the Rockies, at Thanksgiving in a VW bug, with her in something called a car bed. It just sat on the back seat, not strapped in or anything! When she wasn't in it I held her in my arms. Never been so scared in my whole life. I'm talkng winding, mountain roads, hairpin turns, elevation 10000+ feet, in a snow storm. Did I mention VW bug? My husband kept saying, "If it's our time to die, it's our time to die. Might as well relax." And I was like, "Okay, but it can't be the baby's time to die!"

Ask the contractors why that makes more sense. More sense can mean a lot of different things to different people. If you don’t understand what their talking about get them to walk you through it step by step. Better to get everything right the first time.

Loved the update Margaret! I definitely think Parker was trying to tell you something important--😊 Someone here said something about the video being blurry. I think the autofocus caught something in the foreground and focus on that instead of you because you were in the mid-ground area. But then I started driving and couldn't watch but could only listen in the car. So it didn't bother me-I love listening and love your accent. Reminds me of the folks I met when I went to Boston.
