Hmm, I'm definitely a low brass guy, but have messed around with a cheap Mendini trumpet back during the shutdown just for kicks and have been contemplating upgrading, but hadn't been fond of the tone. Had wrote it off as just being how trumpets sound vs tuba/euphonium and started pondering a flugelhorn, but this heavy trumpet manage to run less than the horns I've been looking at.

At least, at the very beginning of the video, I 100% disagree. I would argue that you would want a brighter sound for Classical music, and a mellow, softer, darker, sexier sound for jazz music. Of course it depends what youre playing though.

If you want a screaming lead trumpet, I'd probably recommend spending more than $350 :D
@TheReesterBunny4 жыл бұрын
At only $350. This horn seems more than adequate for a student or intermediate player. I can't wait for the Chinese companies to start making double French horns for low prices.
@bruhsoundeffect84554 жыл бұрын
I’d wait awhile on those for sure lol, I imagine u buy some of the first ones out and they’ll have massive issues. Chinese horns are just now starting to be okay compared to an USA, English, French, or German horn that has twice the playability and are made a lot better

Could you make a video showing or reviewing any plastic or cheap euphonium? Aren't there any plastic french horns either? I'd like to try out one of these instruments. What draws me back from the euphonium is the possible weight of the instrument being not a big guy.

Hello, I am a 15 years old trumpet player ! I'm a beginner (I first started playing around 3 to 2 years ago...But I haven't played for a long time at all, due to mental health reasons I had to get rid of my trumpet, and stop playing for nearly two years. So i'm basically I guess starting back from zero), and this trumpet has always been my dream one. My family is low on money, and since Christmas is coming soon I was thinking of buying a new trumpet for Christmas to start again. I was thinking I'd buy my dream trumpet to kind of motivate myself, but would you recommended this trumpet for a beginner ?.. I remember my old teacher telling me it wasn't the best choice for me, a beginner, to buy it, because it was probably not that good either. Why is that so ?

It looks similar to Carol Brass' trumpets, and the case looks similar to those that carry Bach branded horns. I'm very surprised by the pricing on this too. Would you pass this as a suitable substitute to purchasing a trumpet via a music store? I work in a music store and I've had several families come to us with off/obscure/no-branding instruments that are just awful in quality, and almost impossible to repair no less. What say you on the subject?
@jonathanj.48004 жыл бұрын
I'd like a comparison with an old Conn. You can grt a lot with $350. Why can't the Chinese make something high quality instead of cheap patent infringed disposable junk?

How is tenor trombone in brass band different from something like an orchestra or a big band? I know that different trombones are used in different situations. An example would be orchestras and some concert bands use large bore trombones while in a jazz band or a commercial setting you would use a smaller bore instrument. Are larger bore trombones used more, or smaller ones? Also, how does the parts for tenor trombone differ from the baritone parts in a brass band setting?

In other words, why spend $3,000 on a Bach LR180S-43 Stradivarius Professional Bb trumpet made in the USA, when a "magnificent specimen" of a "gorgeous classical trumpet" SDTR-2019HD that sells for a mere $350 made in China will suffice. 👌 😉 🎺 🎶🎵
@TrentHamilton4 жыл бұрын
You'd want to spend the money on a Bach if you need all the performance you can get out of a trumpet. Give a student a bach and this and they'll not notice any major difference, but give a pro a bach and this and they'll notice a much more important difference.
