I have a trumpet from this brand and I perform really well with it. The tone of the trumpet is amazing and the projection of the sound is amazing as well. The trumpet comes in a case with the trumpet itself, an instruction manual (for beginners), valve oil, and even a small cleaning kit. Trent is right as well, the tone of it is more leaned towards Jazz but it doesn’t mean it’s only limited to Jazz. Would recommend it to any trumpet player, from beginner to pro.
@ROCKlDOVE4 жыл бұрын
C H that’s most likely because they don’t take care of their trumpets, I can say with proper care and cleaning to the trumpet it’ll last a life time, I still have my trumpet from almost 5 years ago and it works like a charm. Sure things age and overtime they lose quality but again with proper care they’ll last forever. The fact that their trumpet only last three months really shows how poorly they take care of their instruments.

It may be "professional" but will it hold up in the long run? Will the valves wear out after constant use? Will they need constant oiling? Will the varnish or the plating stand up to holding for hours a day? The trumpet may be good out of the box, but what about after 6 months or a year?

Jean Paul trumpets are the exact same as other Chinese horns, just overpriced. Don't expect any better than any other $400 Chinese stencil horn.

I really wish some of the higher end professional trumpets would have more effort put into the aesthetics. This honestly looks better to me than a xeno or a strad (while a strad does have a little styling). You've really gotta spend many thousands on a custom trumpet, like a monnet, for it to look good, or go into cheaper stuff like this

New Zealand is an out-of-the-way island where people mostly come and go from one airport/city. Not a good comparison with the US. The US death rate is much better than the UK, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and several other European countries. And the European countries have the advantage of being able to compartmentalize into smaller countries. There was never any travel ban going from New York to New Jersey or any other state.

Those Chinese horns and basically every horn from big companies get marked up more than just trying to make a profit. Chinese horns are the worst about it, harrelson trumpets had a live stream about it and said it’s like they sell them for 5 times what he costs to make one. In my opinion buy a used horn or something else bc one, trumpet sometimes don’t keep their value and 2. It’s a Chinese horn so techs may not wanna work on it, so buy a nice used horn for maybe alittle bit more
@gabrieldoon4 жыл бұрын
Agreed! For the same price as this Jean Paul, I was able to snag a beautiful 1999 Getzen Eterna 700 off of my local Facebook Marketplace Though, these Chinese brand horns can be helpful for parents who don't know how to navigate the used instrument marketplace Buying one of Jean Paul's student horns is a way better deal than renting from a music store, since you'll end up spending the same amount of money in a year or two just by renting At least with these horns they're of decent quality, and you own the instrument so you can always resell it or keep it as a backup where as with a rental you're just out of luck, and without knowing how to properly buy used, you could end up with a dud horn and waste more in repairs than you needed to
@MaxRamos84 жыл бұрын
Well there's been some chineesium horns that have been improving a hell lot especially for low brass, just as good as a normal yamaha
@BrassMaster84 Жыл бұрын
Jean Paul horns are made in China, yes, but so are many students models from "name brands" that are used everywhere. JP has distribution centers in the US, and each one is play-tested by pros who play these instruments. They come with a 1-year warranty and they have parts available for repairs, unlike most "chinesium" horns.

Is there any chance that you could do this again with more useful detail on how the trumpet plays? We hear that it is a lovely instrument to play, and it does sound pretty good, but a more analytic apporoach to its playing potential would be useful. The "thoughts" of the professional (Bruce) that we were promised didn't amount to very much.
