If you hear something bad about someone, even before going to the church elders, pray for them. Talk to God about it, not the brothers/sisters/friends in church.

Thank you pastor for this reminder… i admit that I am a huge gossiper and it is very draining… all I do is spout negative and rage which is very heavy in my spirit and I’m always surrounded by gossipers as well I need to resist and prayer more for strength and wisdom.

I agree Aliyah! the first step to walking right is repentance. Confess it, and forsake it. The next thing you can do is get as much of the presence of Jesus as possible! There is much joy in the presence of God, and when that comes you won't even want to think about gossiping! There is some level of excitement and "joy" that comes from the evil nature when we sin, but God makes sure we don't get away with it. Ask God to change your desires, and to help you be the new creature He intends you to be.

Just want to say.. I was new to church again recently and I was gossiped about. Yes they were teenagers, but they way they laughed and knew I was new and vulnerable and did it anyways still hurt me, they reminded me of my past and I took weeks to get back and get my confidence back, please do not gossip about new members, maybe their hair is is a funny color or they have a piercing, or they are weird to you.. but they may have taken months years of wanting to go to church then finally go and leave in tears humiliated. Please be kind.

I HAD a medical condition... the church talked about... my family... my used to be friends... the job... now my neighbors... all it takes is one person to start and it goes on like a wildfire... I am contemplating 🤔 on getting counseling... I do pray and seek the Lord concerning this first!

🙏 Amen 🙏 l do agree, learn that lesson early in life. I don't like gossip because it causes confusion among friends. I was taught at an early age in my teenage youth not to gossip or say negative things of someone. That's why l stay away. I learn this as an teenage kid. If you can not say something positive of someone, then do not say anything at all. Lesson learned.

I did realize how toxic it is to talk about other people problems even talking and gessing about your own problems over analyzing is toxic. Just pray in faith and let it go. Do not pick it up anymore, even it knocks on your mind, work on your faith and walk in faith while you wait for God!! Do not worry about anything. walk and pray in faith did the holly spirit minister to me a while ago. I am building up my faith, rebuking worrys!! Beautiful how my faith is growing and my mind is healing!! Halleluja. God is good and faithful i always remember myself!!

My neighbors used to gossip outside loudly a lot about me, until I final broke down after a year of it and cried and said please stop and I prayed, God helped. This was a week ago, I also prayed for forgiveness for my losing control cause it's been so upsetting and I am also sorry for reacting with tears and anger

I used to think that way as well. But If we have first hand knowledge we are free to do what Jesus told us to do: Matt 18:15-17; Gal 6:1 Gossip is talking bad about someone behind their back. And we don't always know that it is true. Slander is spreading false information, which of course is a form of gossip.

You should read your Bible so you can learn and understand. Jesus said he and and the Father are one, he is the everlasting Father. Also you don't have be circumcised to be saved, you are saved by grace and by faith not of your works lest any man should boast.
