Thank you so much for your channel--I shared it with my whole household the same day I found it! You make a wonderful presenter and exude enthusiasm. Your costuming is great, as well as attention to other details. This video I found very interesting, not just as history buff with Celtic ancestry, but I saw similarities between this and historical Native American homes and present day PowWows here in Oklahoma!

I just watched this video. Looked like a fun event, it's great that you went in costume. One of the differences between the U.K. and here in the U.S. is that when you are in public here, whether adult or child, legally you have "no expectation of privacy". 😎

That was interesting, great to see how it has developed. I helped build the original site in the early 1980s. Great memories of cleaning the thatch of bugs and stuff by burning wormwood in the fireplace...quite hallucinogenic! Also, collecting reeds for the roof of the main roundhouse from the former Roman port on the coast; wet work but fun! Wish I could get back - still have loads of photos and information leaflets from those times - wonder if the management are interested?

That was a good quality wooden sword, there are lots of shops in Glastonbury selling celtic items for anyone thats interested, and also a viking shop, wyrdraven, Iodo, I would recommend a visit to Glastonbury, you will probably find cloak wearing people on the high street...
@IodoDwarvenRanger2 жыл бұрын
those swords are probably the best wooden swords on the market anywhere, they use good quality hardwoods so they last a good long time when used for sparring

The funny thing for me was the pants the gentleman who was singing and playing the (Lyre?) are very similar to pants I wore as a child in the mid 1970's, they were in style then! Some things never change. Thanks Iodo!

cool to know, Iron Age clothing often uses plaid fabrics, they actually had a hand loom set up showing how they made those sorts of patterns but unfortunately I didn't manage to get a video of it
@neoaliphant2 жыл бұрын
Its related, there is a UK celtic chic / narrow boat/ celtic singing/ bodhran type culture that has a lot of celtic clothing inspiration, been round for decades, a lot of clothing from Glastonbury is celtic inspired, and then that affects music festivals etc.

@@IodoDwarvenRanger Did they say what language they were singing in while burning the wicker man?
