The missing Factions are unlockable. For example if you find a Cyclops, you can eat an hallucinogen mushroom from his lair and then read a special scroll, your hero will trip for a bit and unlock the Cyclops faction.

I always felt like the best way to make a sensible/functional looking dungeon, town, or kingdom layout in an RPG is to have a good builder game/ or large scale strategy game to base it on.

What's awesome about this game is it allows you to sort of RP your little dungeon much easier than in DF. Since imps dig out things pretty quick you can craft cool looking dungeons without too much trouble. Also, once you win or lose, you can upload your dungeon to the game's cloud and it can be randomly chosen as an enemy dungeon for other players to explore and conquer.

This game is awesome, the start is nice and gentle but if you don't prepare it gets brutal.. fantastic game, the very essence of indie game making, I can't speak highly enough of this game the community and most of all the Dev.

LOL Starts gentle. Downloaded and played last night. Spent an hour digging out my nice little cave. had 6 or 7 knights with clubs training along with my Keeper. Out of nowhere some crazy dwarf pickaxes his way through my wall and instakills everyone. Normally I get frustrated at that kind of stuff but it was hilarious. Great game!

I got this game in the early version at their website back when you released the first video about it! It's a very good game even if the graphics are simple, but we should never judge a book by its cover. That said, I played countless times when still in beta, now that is being released and leaving early access, i'm buying it to support the developer! Thanks for all your videos too Splat! :)

I had a modded run of this game where one of my units was insane but could create body doubles and all of those body doubles could create body doubles but all the doubles were insane so they would simply beat eachother to death and make any water nearby run red.

Yeah. It seems and sounds a lot like DF. But a lot more accessible. And from what I can tell, with a much lower learning curve. For me, the mechanics that are different in this game, make it look less frustrating.

I'm stoked for this one. I purchased after SC's first video, but I've been waiting for 1.0 to play it. I really really hope one of the unrevealed characters is a dragon - even if functionally it plays like wizard/knight but with a reskinned hero.

There's a mod to play as a Dragon with a tribe of Kobold followers. :) You start as a young dragon and grow to gain more strength and powers.

Game has a good foundation and ideas, yet if you are used to games like dwarf fortress, rimworld or even the old dungeon keeper it might not satisfy you. When i last played creature behaviour and base building was pretty simplistic- For example creatures don´t even eat, you just need farms to increase your population cap and they have no other needs. "Luxury" simply raises morale. So, while i don´t want to knock the game and the huge effort put into it down, it has to be said that it´s very interesting in many ways but that most mechanics are very shallow still. I want to enjoy it and i´m looking forward to further developments, but while creatures and bases are as they are now, it is unable to draw me in like dwarf fortress or rimworld can. While glimpsing the 1.0 changelog i saw no real mention of deepening those systems.

playing the game for a while now, it is however the same, it is very much only your main guy matters, your army is irrelevant in the long run, like all rogue lite it is all about getting your main 1 character as powerful as possible and effectively soloing everything .
