Digital Juice runs specials on their sand and shot bags once every 6 months or so, $10 each. They're high quality. There are some DIY projects that are great and can totally be worth it but, sometimes it's just easier to buy a professionally made product that's not really that much compared to most.

Thanks Tom for the idea I am starting out I was thinking of using Fish Aquarium gravel in the bags instead of sand you get in 2- 20 pounds 2 - 5 pounds is around 2$ but I will only be using 3 lights and a tripod since I am doing jewelry images have a good say
