you need to toggle collision on anarchy so your roads destroy the trees, if you happen to leave it off you can just "upgrade" the road with collision on
@steaks4uce750 Жыл бұрын
@@caaarbz Network anarchy. It's also the reason why they didn't have any snapping.
@scheballs7 Жыл бұрын
I thought that doesn't actually destroy the tree but tells the game to not render that tree which can hurt your performance. It's better to actually remove the tree than just put a road over it.

The trees-on-road is indeed a setting that needs some taking care of. I've seen Biffa's videos where he figured it out, so I'm confident you got this

I love it how your play style and focus is so different from other bigger channels. I really enjoy watching all your series and this one is off to a great start. I like the pace you're going at, not too much details at this point, because as you say: it's all going to change. Once you have most of the services and types of roads etc available, then it would be better to focus on a lot of detail because then you can make a more final design for an area "for now". Poor that in a timelipse and you got me hooked - again :)

Hey Darren, I am here from your satisfactory series! Ive never played Cities Skylines, but it looks really cool. One thing I might offer your playthrough is I think it would be beneficial for you to connect some of the residential roads to the more main roads. You make a lot of dead ends in your neighborhoods. If you are going to make a dead end make a full roundabout (cul-de-sac). This will provide more intersections in the town and thus more choice / options for people to travel.

Realistic population makes you place more houses until you reach the point where you start building apartments. This is where that mod really shines. No more 3 family apartment buildings that are 20 stories high with hundreds of windows. Instead, the game actually calculates the amount of families based on the actual square footage (scaled) of the specific asset.

Tips to delete treesd off the roads when that happens is to select a single nodes every 3-4 nodes lenght, and just lift it/drop it back to its original height by presdsing Page Up/Page Down, lifting the road will remove all that should have been removed originally, it basically restore the road to its normal state and also reset the building area (the 4x4)
@jazzliaz2789 Жыл бұрын
Also if you turn destroy on and start deleting trees, if you hold left click after deleting the first tree it will let you only delete trees as you hover over them.

CS is one of those games that are fun to wacth, but less to actually play yourself lol I bought the whole thing with like all DLC (except for useless stuff like minor decorations that are easily replaced by mods) for like 100 bucks or more and I hardly played the game. I switched to using realism mods like real day/night cycles and while it did make the game more fun and challenging, it also made it a lot slower. And I just didn't have the patience lol Maybe I'll give it another chance once I buy a new PC in a few months, since my current rig actually struggles with the game lol. I had to use a resolution scale mod to keep it smooth :p

when you said "It's on normal" for the road tools it is not, (the vanilla mode is everything ON but anarchy OFF) you have turned off collision and node snapping, that's why the trees don't get deleted and you have problem snapping to roads. I would recommend having Road bending always OFF, Node Snapping ON, and Anarchy only when you need it, Collision also always ON, you turn it off only in special cases like when you upgrade roads and normal behavior would normally demolish buildings or fences Another tip is "bracing the roundabout", when you connect a road to the roundabout that doesn't connect to an existing node, it will always warp the shape of it, so normally you should connect the nodes in the roundabout with roads like a cross, or star, depending on the number of nodes before adding new nodes
