In this video we build a greenhouse to move some of out plants out of the house to make room for more plant starts. We went with a inexpensive greenhouse to get our feet wet in having a greenhouse. We decided to put this greenhouse in our backyard in hopes we can use this in the future to start more plant to sell at the farmers market.

I'm not worried the deck is sealed and all the boards are pressure treated lumber. It's really not going to get much more water than it does when it rains here.

I have the same greenhouse and I'm in Wisconsin too, the string it comes with helps the rainwater run off so it doesn't pool on the top. Trust me you want to put it on there I found out. Other than that it worked great for me last year except for a couple cold nights where I lost some plants but your hay bales should help

Good to know. We ended up putting 2x4s on the flaps and screwed them to the deck and the wrap is very tight now so I don’t think we will need the rope that it came with. We tried that and it wasn’t enough to hold up to the wind we had a couple days ago.

Cattle panels go up much faster, It'll be hot with the sun up, but when the sun goes down, it might not hold all the heat

Cattle panels would go up faster but would have ended up costing more than this kit that why we went this route. its been working well for the past week now. staying warm enough in there even when the temps go down into the 20s at night.

I purchased my 6.6 x 10’ greenhouse in February. I put weed barrier down in the yard put in 6 tee Post And attach a 4 x 6 cattle panel on the T post. I built the greenhouse over the top of The cattle panel. I secured the bottom edge with concrete blocks that I have on hand. Then Use rope to help hold it down. Rope ends tied through concrete block Zip ties used to secure the green house frame to the cattle panel I am very pleased with mine and have 200+ garden plants ready to go in the ground when it is a little warmer

That's awesome. if we had to buy everything to make one out of cattle panels it would have been more money than this kit. We ended up putting 2x4's on the skirt of the plastic and screwing it into the deck to secure it and it's working a lot better that way now.

@@WhiskeyTangoFarms I bought damaged cattle panels. 2 for $34. When the greenhouse cover is weathered I will get another cover or use heavy plastic. I got my kit $78 ordered in February. Has since jumped up to $130. Your 2x4 solution is great when installing on a deck like you did. Happy planting. Blessings all around

We just put this exact greenhouse together 2 days ago. 1st thing to happen was 1 zipper on each side broke. I was so excited to finally have a greenhouse and that happened within hours and I have called the 800 number many times to no avail. I have ordered some stick on zipper for tarps to put on them. I hope that they work. I was truly excited and couldn't wait to give a wonderful review and then broken hearted 💔 😢 because I have wanted a greenhouse for many years. 💔 I hope you have better luck than we did..

Oh no that really stinks. We haven't had issues yet with the zippers they seem a little more stable now that we screwed 2x4s over the flaps at the bottom of the cover. it really gave the whole thing stability and the zippers are working better now.

Oh I didn't realize that you had the same size, ours was white and I then assumed that the smaller size would be the green color.

Also the instructions were almost pointless. Confusing and a lot of putting pieces together and taking them apart when it really wasn't necessary. They have a neat product that is more affordable than other options but they certainly need to tweak a few things!!

It's been nice to finally have a spot to put all the plants, the house was getting run over with all the seed starts. The grow tent has 5 or 6 1020 trays full of starts too so more will be going into the greenhouse soon.

Looks good! I'd suggest a proper wind/vapor barrier for the floor, like a tarp. Then something on that to walk on

We might look into doing something like that. We'll see how things go this year and we might do something to help seal up the floor to keep temps more stable to possibly use this earlier in the year next spring.
