I could feel the excitement, OMG 😍 Planning to put up our very first green house from Amazon next week.

It is very exciting and hope your assembly goes smoothly! Ours has held up much better than I thought it would for a $140 Amazon purchase, so I am very happy with our purchase. I hope you are happy with yours too and enjoy it for many seasons to come!

I don’t know where u live, but In West Texas I take my greenhouse/Hoop House covers off in May and put away the plastic covers in a storage building folded and place in feed sack for next October. The sun melts ALL my different covers. And the hot winds shred what is left. I put up shade cloth over Hoop House bones for sun protection for my shade loving plants and vegetable starts for the next season. 😊😅

Wow, it sounds like it gets pretty hot in your area if it is melting the greenhouse covers! We're in western Oregon, so our summers aren't too extreme, but we get a lot of rain. I ended up leaving the cover on year round, but moved the plants out around May and that seemed to work well. My biggest issue was grey mold showing up because of all the moisture in the winter. I have my fingers crossed that I can prevent that this year.

Looks great as a tip if your not growing or over wintering any plants in the polly tunnel to prolong the the green plastic cover remove and store inside otherwise left it will deteriorate after two seasons All the best and stay safe

Thank you for the tip! We are using it this winter, but I will be sure to store the cover when we stop using it in the late spring.

Great video thank you. I'm starting assembling the exact same greenhouse today so it was really helpful.

Glad it was helpful and I hope you enjoy yours! Having a sense of humor really helped us get through the limited instructions. 😆

Thank you! I love gardening and I'm so excited to embark on this new adventure that allows me to create a garden space from scratch. It is so fun to share it with everyone and hear about what others are doing in their outdoor spaces.

I’ve been to buy plants to commercial sights and what I noticed is two things….one they don’t have any kind of heating or cooling systems for their giant greenhouses….and two they paint their greenhouses with lime…I guess they mix it with enough water to use as paint…regular paint doesn’t work it has to be lime…and they paint it right on top of the plastic…

That's so interesting! I'm always looking at how garden centers and more industrial sites setup their operation and try to apply what I can to my own efforts.

Have you reinforced any of the frame to make it more rigid? Have you had any problem with rain sitting on top by the center
@amonacres4382 жыл бұрын
We haven't reinforced the frame and it has held up remarkably well. Our Oregon weather sees a lot of rain in the winter and we haven't had any issues with the water pooling and stretching the cover. We recently had a windstorm with gusts up to 50mph and the frame held up well! We had to add weight to the side and end flaps to keep it tethered to the ground, but that was the only weather issue we've had and it was an easy fix.
@amonacres4382 жыл бұрын
Since we've had a ton of rain recently, I thought I'd give you an update to let you know there is still no pooling on the greenhouse. The amount of rain we've gotten in the last few days is significant (I posted a picture on Instagram of our flooded back field!), so I'm very impressed with how it's handled this amount of water. Hopefully, this is helpful in your own greenhouse adventures!

Your supposed to bury the bottom flappy bird in the ground
@amonacres4382 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip! We talked to a local nursery and they recommended we secure it with external weight on the flaps for now. We'll likely end up burying the flaps once we move it to its permanent location, but for now this makes it more portable when we move it in the spring. Thank you for the insight, I love learning from other gardeners!

I wish I could have seen you do the corners slower because I have the same greenhouse and the directions really stink.
@amonacres4382 жыл бұрын
Oh no, I'm sorry it was too fast to see. The directions are really limited and difficult to follow. If you are having any specific issues putting it together, I'm happy to answer any questions I can.
