Now, then young man…. Another cracking video and looks like you’re enjoying yourself as always. Plenty of fish to be had this time buddy and well done you. Looks like you were enjoying yourself eating the fish as well. …I’m like you & I absolutely hate eating fish unless it is cod wrapped in batter with a bag of chips but like you say you just never know and looks like you have been converted my lad 😵😁👍….. you’re not missing much over here as the weather has been horrendous lately. Lots of snow about, and now it’s starting to melt the rivers will be coming up !!! Won’t be long before our trees start to blossom as well and the weather starts to pick up. …. My other half always has a go at me for eating with my mouth open 🤣🤣🤣…… I just call it enjoying your food. Anyway, you be safe and look forward to ya next video my lad 👍😁🎣

John we are very much on a level across the board! Eating with our mouthful, chips and fish in a bag being the only acceptable fish and hating everything else that’s fishy unless you have a rod in hand 🤣 but safe to say it was superb and think the freshness and top Sashimi chef made the difference 😅 don’t envy that rain mate - not seen rain since I arrived! Excellent video on different fishing culture , was that seabass knocked on the head or left to die in the tray though ? , I don't kill fish any more , but when I did , I always had a "priest " . From the bend in your rod , looks like they live up to their hard fighting reputation .
@japanesefishingadventures
@japanesefishingadventures Жыл бұрын
Thank you mate and no I’ve always used a priest myself, but the fish was kept in a well with fresh sea water constantly going into it, almost like a live bait well. Then it was knocked straight on the head and gutted in under a minute. So as killing a fish goes I was fairly comfortable with it as it didn’t feel any pain. Albeit keeping it in a well isn’t amazing, but it was pretty deep and the fish was alive and kicking prior to being knocked on the head so it wasn’t in discomfort - if that makes sense 🤣 They certainly fight hard and wow they put up a scrap! Thank you as always for watching and commenting 😃

Gotta work on that hook set
@JoshuaTree-dq8cj
@JoshuaTree-dq8cj 7 ай бұрын
I know this is an old video but in the beiginning your hooksets aren't making any sense. Generally best practice is to keep as much tenion in the line as possible by pointing your rod tip upwards and moving against the direction of the fish. If you keep the tip low like you do in the beginning, the fish (blackbass especially) will shake the hook out. Also black bass is an umbrella term for all fish in the genus micropterus which includes largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass etc.
@japanesefishingadventures
@japanesefishingadventures 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice mate much appreciated and safe to say being from the UK we don’t do much black/largemouth fishing! But won’t lie to you I was all over the place in that boat and was more concerned about both me and my camera ending up in the water - so the technicalities may have been missed!
