SOLO TRAVELLER - How do you proceed when at a swing bridge when travelling solo? Bearing in mind, once 'temporarily moored' up on the tow path side, and walked across the bridge to open it...you in fact become stranded on the wrong side of the canal then to operate the boat past through the bridge. ??

I have found out that a narrowboat can still be steered with the engine in neutral...tried it loads now and you can steer into locks etc with it in neutral
