Thank you. This was very meaningful. I'm coming out of Pentecostalism/charismatic evangelicalism which unfortunately shipwrecked my faith a year ago and as i was in deep deep despair contemplating whether or not i should completely abandon Christianity, it was a Lutheran pastor who presented the Gospel to me in a way I've never heard before in all my 12 years as a Christian. Lutheranism saved my faith, I've fully embraced it. I'm very grateful for all you and other faithful Lutherans have been doing. With the fact that i'm sooo new to this, I'm seeking to grow more in Lutheran Theology, so Thank you sir for all these resources. I will DEFINITELY be looking into them.

There are sooo many things I REALLY REALLY appreciate and cherish in Lutheranism among them are Law and Gospel (which revolutionized my faith), Extro Nos approach to assurance, the importance of the Sacraments, the way scripture is interpreted with Christ as the center, Lithurgy, the distinction between Corum Mundo and Corum Deo, Absolution, Christ FOR us and just overall the rich theology. I absolutely love, appreciate and cherish it. I can never go back. God's peace with yo

I love Voight's book. It's quite accessible for the layman. You could read a chapter a night easily. His section on the Trinity is especially helpful, as it contains many Scripture references for proof of the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

These are all great recommendations, though I’m not sure any of them would be a great place to start, given their age and/or academic level. I would add three more to list as they are more introductory and accessible (these are all LCMS books): 1. The Chtistian Faith by Robert Kolb 2. The Lutheran Difference by Edward Englebrecht, ed. 3. A Summary of Christian Doctrine by Edward Koehler

Have you ever read Hans Lassen Martensen's Christian Dogmatics: A Compendium of the Doctrines of Christianity? Swedish Lutheran, mystical in temperament, but quite good. I'm an Anglican priest myself, and I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

You should check out a new book that just got released called Existential Soteriology by Joshua Schooping. It addresses PSA from an Orthodox perspective. I think you two would actually have a great conversation if you could connect.

Did CFW Walter ever pen a Systematic or Dogmatic Theology?

He did pen numerous essays and books on dogmatic topics, but no systematic theology. I suggest doing a search on cph.org for C.F.W. Walther where you can find all of his dogmatic books. He did translate and edit Johann Baier's Compendium of Positive Theology, which was the standard text for LCMS seminaries prior to Pieper. A Google search for "Baier-Walther Compendium of Positive Theology" will give you a free translation from Christian.net

Frankly, like we Primitive Baptists, they do not appear as well known, with some exceptions like Keach, Bunyan, Dr Gill, et al. I'd be glad to share it if you desired, Dr Cooper. I imagine I could do so via email, yes?

@@presbyterianmonergist2250 If you have access to academic journals, there are quite a few works by Lutheran scholastics available in English, but without journal access, coming across those works at a reasonable price (legally) is challenging. Just&Sinner Publishing has done a great job reprinting some, however, as Dr. Cooper mentioned in the video.

It is weird....you put "systematic theology" into youtube search. And you get this video and a few dozen calvinist videos that pretend to be Christian systematic theology videos
