WayV debuted in 2019, it's the newest NCT unit. That's why Kun was inactive member of NCT for a few years - his first ever NCT song was "Without you (Chinese Version)" by NCT U in 2016, but since then he didn't do anything, until his debut with WayV in 2019. So he wasn't "inactive in WayV for a few years" as you guys thought, because WayV didn't exist up until 2019 ;) SM just introduced Kun at the very NCT beginning, then kept him in the closet or something for 3 years, to finally release him in 2019 as the leader of the new unit, WayV. Everyone was excited that we can see him again. I applaud his patience for those 3 years of nothing.. And Winwin is inactive in NCT 127 right now, because he is in WayV as well. It's not really a sad thing, although I miss his interactions with NCT 127 members. WayV are promoting in China, it's the Chinese unit (all the members of WayV are from China or of Chinese descent). Winwin can't do promotions in China, Korea and the US at the same time, it would be exhausting, so since the WayV's debut in 2019 he's focusing on China, while NCT 127 are promoting in Korea and the US without him. He was with NCT 127 from their debut in 2016 to 2019, then in 2019 he debuted again with WayV, but SM didn't officially say that he's no longer a member of NCT 127.

Kun was technically still a trainee when he recored "Without You" so that was a pre-debut song for him. His official debut with NCT wasn't until NCT2018. He literally has the most confusing debut timeline ever. I believe part of the reason why he didn't actually debut until 2018 despite being featured in 2016 was probably because he was attending university at the time and graduated in 2018.

I know a lot of people are already recommending crack videos however I recommend watching videos from their official NCT channels like NCT daily instead of crack videos because you won’t really understand them since you are new to the group and can’t differentiate them yet. Once you can tell most of them apart then those types of videos will make much more sense to you. 😁👍

Also the names with 'ae' is pronounced like how you pronounced Haechan. So the 'ae' Taeil, Taeyong, Jaehyun and Jaemin is not pronounced aei. It's not that important but good to know.

Once you get to know them a little more you should react to nct world 2.0 where all the 23 members participate. You should also react to nct life where there are different 'seasons' with different members (maybe smart to watch from oldest to newest) To help put faces to names you can watch nct 24hr relay cam where each member vlogs for 1 hour (1 member get 2 hours) each episode is about 10-23 minutes.

Before Resonance albums (the ot23 comeback) not all of the members were part or had a song in Nct U, but since this album was full of songs on the U style (each song of the album had different combinations of members) now every one is considered part of U (plus Sungchan and Shotaro - the newly added members- are just part of U since they weren’t assigned a unit yet)

I think a nice way to learn more s it’d each of their personalities individually is through their 24hr relay cam series. It’s a vlog series taking place in a single day where each member gets an hour out of the day to vlog. They’re pretty short and simple and you should be able to fit 2-3 maybe even 4 in one video. Just be mindful to go in order :)

NCT U is just a rotational unit, the members for each song depends on what's needed for the concept. Because of NCT2020 and how they split the songs every member has been in U (any group line up for the songs in NCT202p that wasn't 127, Dream, or WayV was classified as NCT U)

Can I give a suggestion to help you quickly learning about all the members. Don't take it as 23. Break it down, learn through units. 127(10 mem) + Dream(7) + WayV(7) + 2 new members(Sungchan & Shotaro). It is the easiest way, but Im not saying that you chose wrong guide, this guide is perfect for the introductions to members but to remember them, unitwise way will be the best way. Also the sum here comes 26 coz we have overlapping members too. Haechan and Mark are in both 127 & Dream and Winwin is in WayV & 127. Now the NCT U case. These guides sometimes say that every member is not in U, but that is WRONG, Just remember that all 23 are in U because as it stands for UNITED meaning all of them and whenever U song will come you can get any combination out of 23 members or maybe all of them like Resonance. Another thing is if we talk about NCT it includes all units because sometimes people misunderstand that WayV is in not NCT, only in U. ALL of them are NCT first before belonging to their respective units. And in future Shotaro and Sungchan will also join some unit(maybe a new unit to be formed in future as NCT will proceed to grow big in members), until then they are in U. I HOPE IT WAS HELPFUL.

Just a suggestion, after watching the guides, it might be a bit of easier to remember their names in groups of their birth year (we refer to it as Line) 94L: Taeil (pronounced Tay-il) 95L: johnny, taeyong, yuta 96L: doyoung, kun (not Q), ten - czenies also refer to them as the savage line LoL 97L: Jaehyun (he's english name is Jay, the one doing 'I like me better' cover) & winwin 98L: jungwoo. (At least for me, helps me faster in memorizing the names LoL. Then matchung names with faces LoL.) Looking forward to more NCT videos..

Clarification regarding Kun, his debut is a bit confusing. He did participate in NCT U's "Without You" Chinese Version but he was still considered a trainee at the time.
