Very useful, I took advantage of the Victrix 20% discount to pick up some of these kits

Just starting my French and English so great time to find the channel. If you are taking requests a idea for Highlanders kilts would be very handy. Loving the channel

Yeah I will be. Trying to decide between Victrix and Front Rank for my own collection!

I have this very kit in my pile of shame - it was next on my to do list -then I started a Covenanter army instead... now I'm itching to have a go at this again...must resist, must stay on topic... ....but my Scots Greys turned out nice, and my Victrix eary Imperial Romans... At this rate I'll have enough troops to fight a battle between Charles I and the Cybermen with reinforcements from 24th Warwickshire , Richard III and the Knights Templar, and not enough to field a historic battle. I've really got to get my collection in order :) These little chaps turned out well though. Good job.

You know, you could probably put on a game with those models using Xenos Rampant for the rules! Cheers.

How do you base the figures? It looks great with the sand and vegetation mix that really brings the model to the battlefield. Thanks as always for the great video tutorials!

I have used Geek Gaming Scenics Mediterranean Soil for the bases. Really useful mix of sand, static grass, stones etc. Apply glue, dip in the mix and done!

Great video. Nice paint job too. What No. Brush are you using?
@CullodenPaintingStudio
@CullodenPaintingStudio 4 жыл бұрын
I was using a size 1 Raphael 8404 for the main work, and another generic Kolisky Sable size 1 for the detail work... Tip size seems to vary by manufacturer! The Raphael size 1 is pretty similar to a Winsor and Newton size 2. Hope that helps.

@@CullodenPaintingStudio thanks. Yes the first brush looked bigger but as you say different manufacturer different size.
@CullodenPaintingStudio
@CullodenPaintingStudio 4 жыл бұрын
@@russellguyver7746 It is an annoyance. The Raphael is the best brush I've ever owned I must say. Huge belly for paint and a really fine tip.

There is a hussar sitting primed on my desk now... I wanted to get my Peninsular stuff out of the way before commencing a new, much longer recording. Think this one will probably get filmed this weekend coming.

@@CullodenPaintingStudio im Sorry for breaking your Balls. Hopefully: "your Tutorial and only your tutorial; will set a precedent for Master Painting and will take my work to the Next Level" not only that. When people say shit Stew, when did you get so good? I will be able to tell em "That fking Culloden Guy is Fking awesome!" But i do want to see those hundreds of tiny strokes that you talked about. Fk the Peninsular stuff; thats way too easy! They will still be there when the Hussar Chapter is finished.

they look great ! but drill out the barrel !
@CullodenPaintingStudio
@CullodenPaintingStudio 4 жыл бұрын
But the barrel is drilled out... Raises a good point though. I wonder what the desired level of drilling out is across the board? For a gaming piece of my own I am happy with a slight shelling out of the surface. Here I drilled in about 1.5mm and used a scalpel to widen the aperture. Do others vice the barrel and get a 3 or 4mm drill bit out?

@@CullodenPaintingStudio OOOPS !!! i went back and rewatched , sorry ! i do a deeper wider hole and paint the inside black , it's very obvious
@ernieme101
@ernieme101 4 жыл бұрын
just checked mine , i used a 2mm drill into metal without a vice , you should be ok with these plastic barrels if you decide to go larger .
