My older sister works at Ultra-Pro in the US factory (where they make the eclipse card sleeves) and they worked so had on that sleeve formula took them forever to get right they went through so many boxes of tests to make sure they wouldn't rip she said everyone in her office is freaking out over this video and her coworker (the one who made the formula) is extremely proud PROPS TO THEM!!!!

I still have ultrapros from way back in the late 90s/early 2000's from when I played pokemon at wizards' retail stores. They still have not split on me, and I have several decks still sleeved in them. They've been around for a long time.

This was a great review! Though for myself, I've only had experience with Dragon Shields, both the old and new ones and I have to say, I like the feel of the new matte styles of the shields. With the Eclipse series, they do feel amazing. My only complaint with them is that I've accidentally marked them with my nail and it left an imprint on them, in which they could be considered marked. I'm love the Eclipse but I feel that these could be easily marked. Otherwise, great review!

Tolarian Community College dragonshields seem worse than they used to be but still satisfactory to me. It seems like as soon as a company has good sleeves and a good customer base, they change the formula to save money. In the long term it's better to have good sleeves even if the margins are a little lower or if the cost is a little higher. Why don't companies see that?

jawn swag I believe Pokemon and mtg have the same card sizes with the main difference being card thickness so any mtg suitable sleeves should be fine for Pokemon. As for yu gi oh, they’re a completely different sized card so using mtg or pkmn sleeves would leave a lot of space in the sleeve which would decrease the provided protection of the sleeve.

As far as I've seen, the formula for KMC Perfect Fits has remained unchanged. Still a tight, high quality inner sleeve. Pair with Ultra Pro Eclipse's and enjoy your near-waterproof cards.

They kind of switched places. I'm glad I've only bought KMC back when they were great, because I used them to double sleeve a few EDH decks. Now I know to steer clear of their sleeves until they up their game again. When I go to double sleeve my next EDH, I'll give these new ultra pro eclipses a shot.

+Quinten Crook Don't get me wrong, I love the old KMC hypers, but some of EDH decks have a lot of money invested in them, not to mention sentimental value. I've got to double sleeve them in sleeves I know will last a long time. If these new eclipses can do that, then they're at least worth a look.

Tedurbin202 I have every playable card I own (at least 6+ EDH decks) and quite a few additional cards double sleeved in KMC hypers - for convenience and efficiency - plus about 600 extra (new) hyper mats in packs from a bulk buy. When I buy the C2016 set, it will go into those new ones. Switching to eclipse is tempting but having mismatched decks/sleeves is weird and spending $300-$500 to replace them all is intimidating lol. I guess the wear/tear and rate of splitting is what worries me and it may be too early to tell for the long term.

The great struggle, 50 card packs and non edh formats have to buy extra. 80 card packs and edh loses. Maybe they should sell 50 and 80, I'd get on board with that. Or just get dragon shield I guess.

The Eclipse from UP have one con, they backs scuff VERY easily (from my experience with the Blue and Reds I bought). I was DQ'd from a local tournament for card marking with a set of sleeves I bought fifteen minutes prior.

I would love to see a video showing you how to insert a card that has a perfect sleeve on it , into a normal sleeve. I have seen tons of people bend up their cards trying to double sleeve their cards. The issue comes with the perfect fit slide off of the card to the point where it almost comes out the top of the main sleeve therefore exposing the bottom of card. Also a great video as always. It was actually kinda nuts how good the Eclipse were compared to what they'd always produced prior, and then they got even better after the refresh. I'm super happy to hear that Legion is pretty respectable. I have two glossy decks and one matte deck, definitely like the matte better but I don't get the hate for the gloss. My glossy legion sleeves don't seem to have the problems pointed out by TCC for the matte legion sleeves (corner marks, etc.)

KMC perfect fits are still really good, b/c they are inner sleeves quality doesn't as much matter (unless you're just that shit at sleeving in which case I feel bad.)

Jesus fucking christ, I was saying the KMC inner's work fine, they still have proper fitting and they weren't too too badly hit by the quality drop most other were. The part your getting pissed off over (for some reason) is a mere joke stating that unless you are terribly bad at sleeving then the quality dip will be fine for the KMC inner sleeves. To answer your question, I'm not okay, brah.

Legion Sideload Defenders are my fave inner sleeves right now, but there's nothing wrong with the regular Legion Defenders or KMC perfect fits if that's what you're into.

Much was surprising in this video. Very nice to know the Legions are better as I am a fan of their art selections. Very impressed with the amount of thought that seemed to go into the UltraPro sleeves. While I'm a little sad there's no black color (seemingly), I look forward to trying them out. Thanks prof, I never thought I'd see the day when Ultra Pro actually brought out decent sleeves! I've been looking for a replacement for the red Hyper Mats I've got all of my decks sleeved in and I'd noticed that they've been splitting and "dog earing" very easily since I'm a mash shuffler such as yourself. I've been considering replacing them with dragon shields but I hadn't been persuaded to change back. Now I've got way too many Hyper mats, not to mention the extra packs I've bought to replace the split/bent sleeves!
