Also a writers note for those looking in here, while we said that pawns don't like to be fed upon, this was true during writing, but thanks to an update after the script being written now their is an ideology option for that. Some ideologys can be built around worshiping vampires and being fed upon.

One trick I've started using. If you down an enemy pawn that you want to capture. Tending it's wounds can allow the pawn to get up and try to escape or start another fight. What you can do (assuming the pawn hasn't had too much time to bleed) Drain blood from the target. Then instantly heal them with the blood you just took. Most of the time, they will be unable to walk due to massive blood loss, but since the heal instantly patches all wounds. There is 0 risk of them bleeding out. This can be a very effective way to keep soon to be organ doners down while you deal with all their friends

I was so lucky that some vampires just decided to show up to my colony without even staarting a fight. One of them offered to turn one of my colonies into a vampire as a fee for his short asylum and the other liked the place so much she decided to stay for good -- so now I just suddenly have two vampires for the exrutiatng effort of opening the gates to the inside of my curtain wall.

*got THAT ONE pawn kidnapped arrested a vampire a time later the "almoust Hussar" pawn became a vampire (50 hemogen stocked) get a quest to rescue that one pawn It was a massacre ;D

I recommend genies as bloodbanks. They will never prison break, so no leg removing necessary. Put a paste dispenser in the prison, they will feed themselves. Less work for your pawns 🙂

The only major downside that I've found with vampires is that fire is actually surprisingly common during fights and can lead to some moments where your tank just peaces out for a little while. It's usually a problem with mechs rather then raiders though with the tesseracts and their lazer that goes through shields and lights people on fire. Also they can't use plasmaswords which can sometimes suck when you get a really good persona plasmasword. It's not gonna stop me from making them use it anyways though.

@@prototek100 I see that, but I think vampires can be a really helpful and fun addition later on in the game. Once you have a colony where you can sacrifice one or two pawns to death rest and your colony can still function it’s not that bad, and it’s actually pretty easy to farm blood packs. I have a colony with 7 people and I just do the medical operation once in a while and have enough to last without worrying. I guess it depends on your play style, but I personally love having vampires around, it spices things up and they’re super cool.

The vamps are definitely my favorite xenotype, because I get to harvest all of their organs. They also can serve as a shooting target for incompetent pawns, all the while left as a freezing torso wishing for death every time a pawn misses his head.

I think they're lacking tbh. I'm running a custom xenotype vampire. Never sleeps, psychically hypersensitive, robust, unstoppable etc etc. Eats for about two pawns worth but it's so worth it. Never sleep is just so good

It actually comes from the Latin "sanguineus" which means bloody, same as "sanguine"

In short, too much sanguine is expected to create a dangerously cheerfully mood... best bleed them! Don't ask me what too much phlegmatic causes... but the cure, you guessed it - bleed them!

Deathrest is NOT a downside, since you can get insane buffs like movespeed and increased coagulation, it's just expensive and it's actually awesome since you can perform surgery on a deathresting pawn, and that pawn doesn't need to eat during deathrest.

They can also overcome emotions during it. The timer for debuffs will continue going down while there's 0 risk of a mental breakdown

It would be interesting if there was a mod where instead of being injured by the sun, you sparkled. The downside being you are much easier to hit in combat.

Sparkling wont make you better target. It should have instead make the pawn weaker. In many fictions its the UV that hurts vampires, not directly the sun, and it wont burn them but weaken them. Like humans getting weaker with radiation or lead poisoning, the vampires work the same but with UV.

Ah yes the good old “just cut the legs off” Im sure they wont crawl on the floor ive been doing this a long time. In favourite is to add pain nullifier and the besr armor possible. Agains mechs they are the best. I just them in kill the main mech and let my other pawns handle the rest. I dont even have worry about the vampire. 10/10

You forgot to say that, as the organs, the emo paks need to be kept in a freezer if you want to stockpile and not get spoiled and that every bonus for the surgery will give a better results (beds quality, sterile floor, good medicine skill, ecc)

Not sure if its modded on my end, but you can keep a vampire from the crash prisoner, and still have him implant the gene. You can even wait for his genes to heal up so he doesn't die while doing so.

something I noted: hemogen extraction takes a Medicine, of 10 value..and gives one pack of 5 value, monetarily. but that might be mod-induced, not sure.

Anybody have an informed opinion of ratios of vamps to bloodfarms? I had 3 Bloodsuckers in my colony, with 9 prisoners on farm duty, but was always out of bags. Might have been a medicine supply issue.

I also hadn't clocked that the bags give them 20 Hemo, so I had them feed when below 90% for a while, waisting half the blood.

I switched half the prisoners to direct bloodfeed, but they had a prison break while I was fighting a mech cluster and most of them ran away. I hadn't implemented the "Pegleg privileges for good behaviour" system yet because I figured it would be more work to feed them all, and I was a bit short on labour. Turns out there's a Mod for that. Who knew?

When you say "alpha genes" at ~7:25 do you mean the archite genes? Because those can't be extracted by a gene extractor, you can only get them from trading or as quest rewards.

to Clarify, Noobert is the guy talking, he is the owner of the channel and he comes up with the ideas I'm Bren the writer who does the stuff and sometimes acts as a character (its the pawn in a hoody and glasses) we have other people behind the scenes to act as footage gatherers and researchers. And yeah Noobert does play the game, I was actually a fan of his videos to the point I emailed him with some ideas for future videos and he took a chance with me. Been working for him for 2 years ever since then ^_^
