Beautiful bass with this song, and it's one of my favorite Bond movies of all time! If you have the right earphones, this song is amazing!

I believe he was offered a 3rd film after the legal protraction that pause the franchise for years but declined to make more movies. He would have been great in Goldeneye.

That happens to be one of my favourite Bond movies. The imagery, the music... The slightly lingering Cold War theme... It's just perfect. But in all honesty, all Bond movies are unique in their own right.

The mark of a great James Bond theme is, does it work both with and without lyrics? This one is, quite simply, a banger.

Dalton should have started earlier. People where used to Moore. Dalton was a whole new style they where not used to in the time. Underrated bond for sure. Glad he made two movies still

This is the far best Bond movie. Timothy Dalton is the classic Cold War warrior with flair and confidence, not a panty chaser but sexy personna with daring mission dedication.

Did you play this on a keyboard or write it in Fruity Loops? Also the idea for Goldeneye was originally Timothy Dalton and Anthony Hopkins but the delays due to a legal dispute over the film rights to James Bond meant Dalton didn’t come back after Licence to Kill. I wish they made a game of Living Daylights

While I am considering to tinker with a keyboard in the future, I did neither. I merely recombined different audio samples that I dug up.

More John Barry than A-Ha, for sure. I wish I had this on cassette to play when I was driving to the club on a Saturday night, or driving home at 5am after spending the evening with a strange female.
@marjoriemcbride65572 жыл бұрын
No it’s not more Barry than a-ha…Pal Waaktaar of a-ha wrote this song when a-ha were asked to do it…they presented the more or less completed song…minus the lyrics which were then worked on by Pal and bandmate Magne Furuholmen. John Barry only added the orchestration and changed a few notes…which a-ha promptly changed back again. Purely because of contractual obligations they conceded to Mags’ name being removed and John Barry’s included as co-writer. When the band re-recorded it for their later album tracks they removed Barry’s name again and reinstated Magne’s. This is an a-ha song from beginning to end and they need to get the credit for it…it’s a firm fan favourite and is performed at almost every live concert, usually as an encore item, to this present day. Btw the original Demo which a-ha played to Barry is available for you to listen to on KZbin if you don’t believe what I’m saying is true. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHXWoGyPq9h6a7M
@themagus59062 жыл бұрын
@@marjoriemcbride6557 Definitely an interesting story - I stand corrected. Thank you! I just always thought that the orchestrations sounded like more of Barry's previous Bond film scores. It's tough to pick an all-time favorite, but I think mine would have to be "Goldfinger".
@marjoriemcbride65572 жыл бұрын
@@themagus5906 Goldfinger is definitely up there amongst my favourite Bond themes too. I’m a big Bond fan as well as being an a-ha fan, and because I have had the advantage of hearing The Living Daylights performed live in concert on more than a few occasions…a very different experience altogether from listening to a recording…it is my favourite theme, but that’s probably not much of a surprise to anyone!
