I love that I’m not the only one that does not do a designer tree. My granddaughter loves to see all the ornaments from years past as we hang them together. She is driving over tomorrow so we can do just that. A very precious tradition I hold very dear and makes my tree the most beautiful to me. Yours is gorgeous, and I love that it’s so meaningful.

Your daughter was so sweet. Loved the pinky swear comment! I also have a memory tree. Each year we gifted our three children with an ornament. When they were grown and moved out, I was able to box them up and they had a special starter box of decorations to decorate their own trees. I have fun going to their homes and reminiscing with them. On the other hand, my five grandchildren have fun coming to our house and finding the ornaments on our tree that they either made or purchased for Nana and Papa. Family traditions and memories are the best! 🎄

This was my favorite decorating video this year. Yes having the family do the decorating is THE BEST ! and that tree looked gorgeous ! I prefer to see this kind of decorating at Christmas. So many you tubers go over board and they get bogged down with the process and overwhelmed and are brought to tears. Their kids are not involved at all and yes the house and decorations are picture perfect but that’s not what this season is about. Thank You for sharing the family traditions and memories from years past ❤ I see Jesus everywhere in this video in your family and you making home made gifts and the love and fun times shared ! Merry Christmas

I made cross stitch ornaments one year long ago...I am 76. When I was little, we would go to my grandparents home. When my child was little, my parents would come to our house. When my son had children, we started going to his house.

I miss our family tradition to choose and cut down our Christmas tree … my children are grown and have started traditions with their families. But I still hang as many of the ornaments I can collected over the years (on my faux tree😉), so when our “kids” come to visit, they can be reminded of the special times when they were growing up. The ornaments are good conversation-starters!

Always love your decorating style. BTW This is not a criticism, I appreciate someone kindly telling me I'm saying a word wrong. Unless both are correct but I don't think so: sa·chet is pronounced sa-ˈshā

@ Some of the ornaments are about 100 years old, they’ve been packed away with love and care for 3 generations now. In fact I guess a 4th generation, my brother has some too.

Your Volg is lovely, and I enjoy watching your projects and decorating. Beautiful and thoughtful projects. I will be making the vanilla. This is not a criticism, and your pronunciation of sachet, may be a product of where you live, but sachet is actually pronounced "sa-shay".

We don't have theme trees either. I like the term Family Tree. Never kne2 what it was called. My hubby worked for Hallmark cards for 30 years so they always pick out an ornament . Now grandkids and spouses get to. Spent all afternoon making peanut brittle with my hubby. My grandson and I always made cookies together since a little boy and at 22, he said Grandma we are doing cookies, aren't we? Now his girlfriends joins us.

What’s the recipe you used for the vanilla? Every recipe I’ve found takes months so it can sit and meld the vanilla and vodka together.
@GraceInMySpace11 күн бұрын
Mine was 4 weeks or more! 7 vanilla beans for a 16oz jar filled with vodka. It just said to test the strength after a month and if more is needed to let it rest longer.

@@GraceInMySpace fair enough! I've just heard French words like "foyer", "mauve" and "charcuterie" pronounced by so many American KZbinrs that I assumed it was a similar thing.

Nails on a blackboard moment: it is pronounced “sa-shay” not sachet like hatchet. Otherwise, really enjoy your channel.
