I visited Gettysburg in 2008 for a convention. We did drive around the town, cemetery, and battlefield, but the only museum we went to was the Lincoln Train Museum. They have a mock up of a train car that simulates a train ride thru a forest, and a whole room of model train displays.

My husband and I have been to Gettysburg 4-5 times a year for the past ten years. There is just something about the place that draws you in. It’s a breathtakingly beautiful place.... so rich in history.

We stayed at a hotel on the edge of the town, and every morning my keys were in a different place. I also felt like I was constantly being watched. No malice to it, but all curiousity. I started calling him Sam. I hope he's at rest now.

I think there was a Confederate Soldier that they called “Sam”. I think his actual Last Name was Hood.

As a warning. For those who wish to visit the Eisenhower bridge DO NOT allow women in your group to set foot on the far side from where you can park your car. There’s a spirit known as the preacher and he will cause havoc on them. He attaches himself to women and is scared of men. Sach’s covered bridge do bring a pack of cigarettes and offer some to Tennessee, he was a confederate soldier who was hung there and he enjoys when offered a few drags of a cigarette

AN OUTSTANDING VIDEO!! I was in Gettysburg 8 years ago, and stayed for three days. STILL REMEMBER that visit!! Robert E. Lee's headquarters was only a rock throw from the motel I stayed at. I couldn't get over HOW SMALL that house was. At the spot where Lee was on Traveller ,and, watched his troops retreating from Pickett's Charge( where he said IT'S ALL MY FAULT), I heard a VERY FAINT BUGLE CALL. At a couple of other places on the battlefield, I got on one knee,and, prayed for those men ON BOTH SIDES whose lives were tragically cut short. I didn't see any actual spirits,but, I could feel their presence. I,also,recall one time when I prayed for the lost, I heard A VERY FAINT THANK YOU. When I heard that, I started to cry. 😪😪😪✌✌✌✌

You will love Gettysburg! I went there back in 2016 doing ghost hunts..the prices are really affordable as far as hotel costs outside Gettysburg(in town more costly and reservations need to be booked in advance)depends on the season. Some of the local diners have a lot of yummy home cooked meals that you get a lot of food for ya buck! The people there are so laid back and friendly. They like to shoot the breeze with the tourists on stories of the reenactments, ghost sightings, Civil War history and a lot of scary stories. Lots and lots of fun and lots of history! I'm going again for a longer stay next time when I get another chance to go again. Keep on ghosting!

Gettysburg has the most blood spilled in one area in US history. Some say that you can find dark reddish brown dirt because so much had soaked into the ground.

@@chirpycrow2061 I can attest to all that you said. Had the great luck of spending all my summers there as a kid and got to see the ins and outs of the whole town. Met a lot of incredible people whom I still talk to frequently, spent a lot of time roaming the battlefields absorbing the still very present supernatural & ethereal energy and getting to intake, appreciate, and ponder the history of all the sacrifice and tragedy that went down almost 160 years ago.

Im just outside Pittsburgh PA to I have traveled and taken several friends to Gettysburg over the years. Last friend I took we stopped at the Farnsworth house to use the restroom. He went first and tried to go in when he felt someone grab the door from the inside and hold it closed. He leaned on the wall outside to wait. Then a few minutes later I come through and go right into the restroom. He thought someone was inside. A ghost just didn't like him.

Another great video! One point of interest is that during the filming of the movie "Gettysburg" local people would help out with the film and report hauntings. In particular, people would drive actors to the movie scenes. After dark, when driving back home alone, they would look in their rear view mirror to find ghosts of soldiers riding in the pickup bed.

Spent the greater part of my childhood in Gettysburg. I remember crawling around the rocks of Devils Den, following around my grandmother with a candlelit lantern while she gave tours of the town, and pondering the thousand minié ball holes in the wall of the Farnsworth House like it were yesterday. Forever will stand as one of my favorite places with the fondest memories, the solemn yet peaceful energy is really something otherworldly. There’s countless occurrences I’ve experienced that still just don’t have any explanation, I could write a book. This video gave me serious goosebumps and a whole lot of nostalgia, I wish I could like it twice, thanks for posting!

The civil war was about the banks being national or English property rather than American. The national bank act started after the civil war. The government wanted people to be angry and to fight against each other rather than fight against the bigger picture. The south saw that fighting against the banks was like what the war of 1776 was.
@BeetleSpoon27703 жыл бұрын
