"Asoka was a bit too much" whoever is saying that doesn't understand why she fared better than other jedi masters. The other jedi got caught completely off guard, some in the middle of a battle. Asoka had time to direct her attention to defending herself from the clones, the other jedi didn't have that(except Yoda because he sensed it and we saw how that played out for the clones)

Honestly, no explanation for why Ashoka did so well against the clones is needed. I always felt one of the biggest weaknesses of RotS is how poorly the Jedi Masters fared. They survived years of war to be cut down in seconds, it was just poorly written. In fact, there is a scene when Bail Organa arrives at the Jedi Temple and a Padawan is fighting clones and he does better than the masters!
@ahsoka5216

@@vipermageex5861 I guess it's supposed to show how padawans were more trained for combat whereas the masters were trained to be peacekeepers which is probably why they failed as an Order because they were teaching the future generations of Jedi nothing, but war which isn't the Jedi way.

Viper MageEX totally agreed. the jedi masters used to engage in a lot of combat, but in their old age and frailty, they don’t have the energy or the reaction time anymore. also, they don’t engage in combat whatsoever at all. to the contrary, they plan peace treaties and try to expand the republic. they’re more of the generals leading an army rather than the soldiers on the frontlines. totally agree with your point here.

*Dave Filoni:* Creates Ahsoka Tano, a strong female character, born out of an annoying child, but grows exponentially over the course of the show, and she EARNS every bit of love and respect from the fans...proving that everyone loves a [WELL WRITTEN] female character. *JJ Abrams/Kathleen Kennedy:* Creates Rey, a powerful female force user with no weaknesses and no room for growth, she therefore doesn't earn any of her "accomplishments", and at the end of it all, she ends up taking the name of another character's legacy...proving that everyone hates a [POORLY WRITTEN] female character.

Personally, I feel like the deaths of any Clone Soldiers as a result of Order 66 are completely on Sidious. If they come at you mind controlled and force you to defend yourself, you aren't really morally responsible for their deaths. It is Sidious who orchestrated this. You even see Rex loading the shovel into his starfighter. Rex'es helmet has tally marks, the one on the grave did not. I feel that quite some time had passed when Vader found the scene, but I don't know if he would be fooled by Ahsoka's lightsaber and Ahsoka helmets when they implied in an earlier episode that he can sense her in the Force much like the movies establish he can sense the life of Luke, Obiwan, and even Padme. The time frame would be way after order 66, but (probably) before Ahsoka confronts Vader in Rebels. Then again, maybe they both assume that the other was killed in order 66 and they need to be within proximity to get a good sense of one another as seemingly demonstrated in Rebels where she literally faints upon realizing that Vader is Anakin.

Disagree, the arc was good from an interesting standpoint, but it brings up the same issues the sequel trilogy does. We just love clone wars too much to admit it. Let me quote rex from rebels "I didn't betray my jedi." Some people say he didn't because he told ahsoka about the chips, or he didn't do it willingly, but it does not change the fact he shot at ahsoka, which involuntary or not, he did betray ahsoka. And the Ahsoka novel, probably my favorite novel, completely contradicts this ending. Just like the sequel trilogy, this arc is full of plotholes.

How I see the last scene: Anakin went there not long after become Vader just to see what happened to Ahsoka. Anakin still cares about her, in some way, even after the transformation. That's why when we get a close-up, his eyes are not sith yellow, but blue. With Obi-Wan betraying him (from a certain point of view), Padme leaving him and Ahsoka dead, his path towards the dark side is even more complete. Now he is truly alone. If Obi-wan was his brother, then Ahsoka was sort of a little sister to him. Lets think about it, why would Vader go to the shipwreck? It could've been done by a regular storm-troopers, as a routine check. Vader went there himself just to confirm Ahsoka's death. Perfect finale. I couldn't ask for more.

I get why some would think the plot armor was strong with Ahsoka since she didn't get gunned down like other jedi knights. But remember the others we're totally caught off guard. My boy Ki-Adi-Mundi didn't have a Rex to hesitate and give em a fighting chance. That hesitation bought Ahsoka precious moments to get it together and fight back.

Ohhhhh that moment where Vader slowly kneels...damn. That just hit different. The eerie music, the stillness in the air, the sheer silence save for his breathing....no one won here....no one but the emperor. What a way to end. It's truly haunting indeed. Star Wars is as turbulent as fandom itself. But I kinda find that endearing.....Though I WILL say that at least we can all agree on one thing: Clone Wars and Mandalorian is top tier star wars. Oh and Filoni should be creative director of Lucasfilm. So hey we agree on two things. I think Star Wars has a bright future ahead-there were some growing pains sure, but to say SW is dead, is premature, and I think there's still life in this franchise. It's a vast world, who knows what stories could be told next. Thanks Clone Wars, for getting me into such a wonderful galaxy, far far away.

That final shot is perfect. In essence, the show was always about the clones, Ahsoka and Anakin, all of which are represented in the shot. The helmets of the clones, bearing the paintjob of Ahsoka, reflecting the silhouette of Anakin, now reborn as Vader. Beyond that, the shot symbolized multiple different ideas. Most obvious of them all, the graveyard of clones symbolized the death of the Republic. Despite winning the Clone Wars, those within the Republic lost everything. Then there’s the helmets, painted to resemble Ahsoka, harkening back to the undying loyalty bestowed upon the Jedi by the Clones, adding to the tragedy of Order 66. _Loyalty means everything to the clones._ Vader’s reflection, slowly disappearing as Anakin walks away from the destruction, reborn as a monster, trapped in a suit of armor, a silhouette of his former self. There are other examples of symbolism, whether it’s the significance of Morai, or Anakin’s blue eyes, trapped and tainted by the lenses of his new mask. Or the saturation of the environment. What was once colorful: the Venator’s hangar bay doors, the orange paint of the 332nd, even the royal blue of Ahsoka’s blades, all of it, dull and devoid of life, replaced by the monotonous grays of the Empire. Anakin, in a sea of dull, pale, white snow, remains the lonely speck of darkness and remembers his past life, remembers Rex and the 501st fighting alongside him. He remembers his days as a general in the Grand Army of the Republic. And he remembers his Padawan, his friend, his sister. He mourns her. And moves on....

@@goodmind4940 Well firstly Rebels came out a good time before this last season did. I didn't notice too much disparity in the animation, since the storytelling, and the characters(Chopper is my man) kept my attention and allowed me to look past any inconsistency with the animation. And Resistance? Resistance was a Disney Cartoon pure and simple. It has no affiliation with Rebels or the Clone Wars. Its a spinoff of the Sequels. Its a show for kids, with very very little actual violence or thematic element, and the characters are reflective of it. Kas was probably THE most infuriating character in Star Wars to date, even beyond the Sequel cast, and the infamous Jar Jar Binks. At least Jar Jars antics could be lovable. Ezra and Asohka both grow and mature as their series moves forward. Kaz was basically Jar Jar reincarnated and dumped into the lead role, and I hated it.

Also, Rex hesitates and gives her time. None of the others were given time. A lot didnt even get the time to ignight their saber, others were already tired from battle. Look at the deaths we see in Revenge of the Sith. One shot off a speeder. No time to react. Another the ship was shot down. No time to react. Another was in the middle of a battle. Exhausted and it was an elite clone force. Another had the Clones all shoot her in the back before she could even ignight her saber. The other deaths had them dealing with the Clones AND ANIKAN SKYWALKER! Rex hesitated enough to give Ashoka time. She had the droids even the playing field when it seemed over whelming and she had Rex helping her fight them off and in the last moment it was pure luck. She was about to die, nothing else, than the ship just tilts just the right way to knock everyone off their feet and save her life. It's believable and doesnt contradict what we see in the movies.

@@flaviomonteiro1414 um...Ki Adi Mundi was blocking incoming shots from like 90 degrees. Ahsoka was completely surrounded by the clones. Besides, her lightsaber blades would definitely have been visible through the smoke. Kit Fisto was dead before Order 66 even started. Obi Wan never had to deflect blaster bolts coming in from 360 degrees. Ashoka was able to survive this due to Rex hesitating in the beginning. Wasn’t the same for the other Jedi aside from Yoda being an exception. You also got to realize too her and Rex also took some damage too from the clones when they were both trying to fight them all off. It could of gone either way. They could of died, or lived but in this case they were able to survive. (And people say Ahsoka was being a bit much in this episode)? Please she did everything she learned from her years of training that has led to her and Rex’s survival AND, in the end she stuck to her morals and didn’t kill any of the clones. Those were her brothers/friends. Most of the Jedi order probably would of killed them in the situation, but Ahsoka stuck true to her beliefs and spared them. The beliefs that line up to what a Jedi is supposed to be. Even if she doesn’t call herself one, she actually was what a true Jedi was suppose to be.

I like how Ahsoka was handled. When she first got attacked and she repelled those close range shots full of energy and later in the medical room you could see how tired she had grown, her movements so slow compared to before. I think the animators did a great job with both fights and to me at least it makes sense, Rex gave her time, she's always been very agile, she has 2 swords, is a highly skilled sword fighter and ofc strong with the force, I think the time away from the order even strengthend her force power.

Your analogy of how the Clones were merely used as tools of war and in the end, disposable resources is spot on. The ending scenes were extremely chilling and sobering of how following the Jedi purge, the clones were disagreed and replaced. That is great story writing.

Just imagine Star Wars: The Clone Wars had it not been prematurely cancelled either by remaining on Cartoon Network without Disney or moved to Disney XD: Season 5: The flashback episode of Plo Koon saving Ahsoka Tano and The Bounty Hunters. Season 6: Crystal Crisis on Utapau, Ahsoka's Walkabout, The Bad Batch, the first half of Dark Disciple, Kashyyyk and Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. Season 7: Rex and R2-D2, Jedi Temple Underground, Ahsoka and the Yuuzhan Vong, the second/final half of Dark Disciple, Return to Mon Cala and the Siege of Mandalore. There would have been much more buildup to the series finale and it would have equally glorious to see a tragic, beautiful conclusion to this fantastic series.

The greatest disservice to this episode is the fact that it was serialized in the first place. If all 4 were a single movie we would be giving the entire movie 10 out of 10. On it's own it appears to be the weakest episode of the 4 but as the climax of a single movie it's just how an actioned packed film should end.

I remember my dad taking me to see the movie in theaters when it first came out. I was only five years old. It’s honestly so hard to believe that it’s over. That *the* show that shaped and defined my childhood is now finished. That finale brought tears to my eyes, and just as we had watched the movie, together, and then, every Saturday night, every episode of the series, together, we watched that final episode. And that final moment of that final episode. *This* is what Star Wars means to people - always has, and always will. No three movies can change that, nor any company. This series was art - this franchise was, and *will be* art. And that’s what good art does - it makes you feel something. Jesus, what a ride it’s been.

The other thing with Ahsoka was that she and Anakin had a much stronger connection to the clones. Like if Rex didn't hesitate or feel enough of an attachment for the chip to flip it and make him want to kill her himself, she'd be dead. Most of the other Jedi, especially in the council, didn't have as strong of a connection to the soldiers and the reverse. And since the chip basically mind controlled them, the Jedi didn't sense an emotional shift. So they ended up caught with their pants down often in an open area and killed. Rex's emotional shift, Mauls warnings, AND Anakin's turn to the dark side also put her on edge and avoided her getting caught by surprise as much. She also was inside a ship she knew very well and had explored even more than the clones did since she was a force user, so she could hide much more easily. Plus Maul was causing chaos too. Rex is basically in full survival mode and is trying to detach himself from reality. In the Ahsoka novel, she could sense that the stormtroopers were clones. It's set only a year after Order 66. Also, I agree about animation vs live action. It's a little odd to see characters bouncing between human movements and string based movements. That being said, there have been advancements in blending super powered individuals and live action (Marvel).

I have to hunt for bad films. In anime? 1 out of 1000 DOESNT suck. I have to hunt for good anime. Anime does not have a quality sensor or "standard" to go through before its aired. After watching this, I just became even more angry and disappointed with how poor the sequel trilogy was. If they had made a plan from the beginning, and if KK wasn't such a prick about pushing an agenda, then it might have actually been something memorable and at least gave me some hope for the future of the franchise beginning with TFA. I've come to terms with what deserves to be Star Wars canon and what doesn't, and for me I consider everything leading up to and including The Mandalorian (that is, 5 years after Return of the Jedi) as official canon. This includes the original 6 films (obviously), The Clone Wars, Rebels, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Rogue One. There is absolutely zero chance Disney or anyone else is going to coerce me into accepting the sequel trilogy as canon. It's just that bad.

I think a canon explanation for Ahsoka being able to survive and fend off so many clones, aside from her being the main character, is that she got extra time to sense what was happening. Rex bought her 10 extra seconds the other Jedi didn't get by hesitating and claiming he will shoot Ahsoka himself.
